A sentence a day Nicaragua version! Check out a day by day play of our time in Nicaragua from the day we arrived to the day we get to Panama!
11/8/17 – left for Nicaragua at 6am this morning and ran into a 2 1/2 hour roadblock (which turned into a bible study and worship), a couple of borders and ended up staying at a hotel. But also watched Moana, stranger things, podcast, and music!
11/9/17 – arrived in Nicaragua 24 hours later than we planned! But we made it!! The Nicaragua border was a toughy but the church we stayed at had mattresses, showers, and food – what a blessing!
11/10/17 – took the ferry over to the island, Ometepe, where we are doing ministry! We explored the town we are close to and play soccer with some of the kids!! I’m excited to see what this month is going to bring.
11/11/17 – rode in the back in of a truck with 19 other people to the little town on the island today!
11/12/17 – this morning one of the sinks exploded in our house so one of the rooms had a little flood. Later in the day we took 3 of kids to the tienda that’s a little less than a mile up the ride for treats!
11/13/17 – first day of school!! This week my team is working in the school that CICRIN has!
11/14/17 – in the classroom today, we helped cut sticking to use as Christmas decorations, played chess, and then soccer at recess!
11/15/17 – the school held a chess tournament today that we helped with! Also saw a baby tarantula in the cafeteria – so that was great.
11/16/17 – taught English to the kids at school today! We taught greetings and common phrases and then translated words they wanted to know! Also, saw a not so baby tarantula in the classroom today…
11/17/17 – did a listening prayer today and heard God tell me the word “Wait”. And realized how quick I am to rush into things so focused on waiting in every aspect I could today.
11/18/17 – went zip lining on the island today! We went upside down, right side up, and did Superman!!
11/19/17 – went to church today! Adrian translated the message for us and the premise was that we all have a purpose in this life.
11/20/17 – haley killed a scorpion in our room this morning. And this week our team is on prayer ministry! We get to pray for CICRIN, the staff, the kids, and the town.
11/21/17 – walked around CICRIN campus today and just prayed for every part of it – blanketing it in prayer! Also decided to memorize Ephesians 6:13-18 as a team!
11/22/17 – this morning we rewrote a psalm and prayed through it! And in the afternoon, we had the freedom to pick a specific place at CICRIN to pray for – I decided to pray for the school!
11/23/17 – happy thanksgiving!!! We had delicious food, a talent show, and a family style dinner with the whole squad!!
11/24/17 – today we received a teaching on inner healing and spent the day praying for CICRIN and reflecting on prayer week. I truly realized the weight and importance of praying on someone else’s behalf. It’s no light task.
11/25/17 – tried to catch a chicken today but failed and ended up having a little girl make my hair look pretty.
11/26/17 – went to a fresh water lagoon today where there was a rope swing, slack line, and super clear water!
11/27/17 – our team is on kitchen and grounds this week! So raking leaves and doing dishes!! Today I swept the drive-way and as soon as I was done a huge gust of winds blew everything back on it. This place is gonna look hecka good by the time we are done with it.
11/28/17 – helped paint rafters for a new roof today! And when Anna and I were talking on the rancho, a gecko fell down and then we looked up and there was a snake above our heads… so that’s fun.
11/29/17 – did logistics all day today to try and get our team to panama. Didn’t get too much done today but going to keep looking into things!
11/30/17 – gave Freddy my key that we got from launch today! Also was sweeping the floafter dinner and a giant terantula came out of hiding:)
12/1/17 – went to Granada, Nicaragua today and got to explore the city! It was nice to get off the island and see some more of this country!
12/2/17 – went volcano sliding in Leon today!! At the top there was literally 100s of bees so we wanted to slide down as quickly as possible.
12/3/17 – headed back to CICRIN where they had a fancy meal for our last supper there and got to play soccer with the boys one last time!
12/4/17 – stayed up all night in the airport with Haley as she waited for her flight. We played cards, watched movies, took pics, and chatted!
12/5/17 – mainly worked on trying finalize plans to panama and just sat around because I was so tired from being up all night the night before!
12/6/17 – had a celebration tonight where we guessed Irish slang and played Christmas games!
12/7/17 – headed off on travel day 1 of 2 for panama! Stayed the night in San Jose, which reminded me of a U.S. city!
12/8/17 – made it to panama!!! Arrived late and found out I’m in the same time-zone as my parents now!
