Our sweet time in Lesotho has come to a close but here is a quick glimpse at each day!

1/10/18 – we arrived at Africa 4 Jesus in Lesotho! When we got here we were told there was not much electricity, no running water, no WiFi, a long-drop toilet, and bucket showers. Woo!

1/11/18 – our host took us for a long walk around the villages we will be building relationships at this month. It was beautiful!

1/12/18 – we went to the mall in Maseru to prepare for the month and I found a bucket hat that was calling my name!

1/13/18 – some of us went to these rock pools that drained into one another and was about an hour walk down the mountain! I was also told that I probably have Athlete’s foot so that’s fun.

1/14/18 – this morning I watched a man iron his clothes using a cast iron that you have to heat up on a gas stove!

1/15/18 – went on our first “morning walk” with our host, Pieter, and weeded the fields of our neighbors for ministry!

1/16/17 – met and prayed for a sweet woman with cancer this morning and read her scripture that she was eager to hear. Also found out that team changes will be happening at the end of the month.

1/17/18 – some kids in the village taught us traditional dances after we did some songs and games with them!

1/18/18 – we visited three houses today – a mother and son, a joyous family, and a man and his family. We helped the mother and son with their laundry and jammed out to the joyous families favorite tunes!

1/19/18 – played the game where you look up at the stars, spin around, and try to find the light with the host’s sons! It was so fun and the stars were beautiful!

1/20/18 – saw the brightest double rainbow today and could even see where us began and ended!

1/21/18 – Shea, one of my teammates spoke in church today! And had a tickle party with Kuna!

1/22/18 – Louie wanted to join me for quiet time today and left a paw print in my journal.

1/23/18 – learned how to make home made fat cakes at a house in the village today and played lots of cards with the woman who was teaching us how to cook!

1/24/18 – hung out with shepherds in the morning who taught us how to cook a traditional meal, play crazy 8’s, and do traditional dances!

1/25/18 – was able to hear the testimony of an older woman who goes to church with us and happens to live in the village we visit daily. It was a sweet redemption story!

1/26/18 – Tessa’s birthday!!! Kaila- the host’s wife, made pancakes, lasagna, and chocolate cake for Tessa’s birthday!!

1/27/18 – was taught by the boys, Jon and Jamie how to make water bottle bombs after they tried to scare me with one.

1/28/18 – Jess L., one of my squad mates, spoke in church today and I made a kid cry when the church was supposed to be quiet. And tonight Jamie, Jon, Tessa and I threw chickens into some of the other girls’ room!

1/29/18 – went down to the water tank and filled bags with sand to prevent eroding around it – got pretty muddy since the sand came from the river!

1/30/18 – visited a group of 3 shepherds and shared the Gospel with them and saw their eyes light up when talking to them about who God is and how to grow in a relationship with Him.

1/31/18 – this morning we went to the village and did a Bible study at a family’s house and in the afternoon we made a giant hole filled with mud even bigger!

2/1/18 – visited the village one last time today and were able to go back and see people we have already met. It was hard and sweet to say goodbye to the people of this place.

2/2/18 – today is our last full day in Lesotho. We did a prayer walk through the valley and stopped to pray at the schools and in the evening we played games with the boys one last time.

2/3/18 – left around 6am for debrief and arrived at the debrief location at about 10:30pm. The Lesotho/South Africa border took about 4 hours.

2/4/18 – team changes occurred today and read Listening Prayers that O Squad did for us!

2/5/18 – tonight we were given the opportunity to say any last words to our old teammates so nothing went left unsaid. I’m really going to miss F2F but am excited to see what God has in store for this new team: FAB

2/6/18 – some of us went to Durban because there were people that wanted tattoos. I ended up with a temporary tattoo that looked like another girls on our squad. She was touched until she found out it was temporary…

2/7/18 – this morning we had a beach day and logistics (Haley and I) went to lunch with the leadership which was awesome! Also had dinner with F2F which was sweet.

2/8/18 – left for and arrived in Swazi today! 2 teams are working with the AIM base and my team is working with an organization called Hosea’s Heart which is a home for women that were abused or sex trafficked.

We are safely in Swaziland enjoying our time here! Please pray for discernment and wisdom for my team as we hang out with and disciple girls who have come from an abusive past or have been involved in sex trafficking. The ministry we are serving with is called Hosea’s Heart and God is doing some INCREDIBLE work here already!
