I am
officially in the country of Ukraine for month #9 on this crazy journey. I can’t
believe that less than 2 months from today I will land in New York City!
We
flew out of Nairobi, Kenya on August 28th and headed to Ireland for
a conference called The Awakening. It is a time for all of the World Race
squads to come together and get refueled and rejuvenated. We worshipped, we
heard some incredible speakers, and we explored beautiful Dublin. I’m pretty
sure that I decided I could move to Dublin! It was amazing. We also had our
team debriefs during this time. We have debriefs every three months among our
squad. It is a time where we meet as a team with our squad leaders and squad
parents to make sure everyone is doing alright and that we are growing as a team.
We
flew out of Ireland on August 6th and headed to Ukraine! We have
been here since then staying/working at a church who runs a resort type place
for ministers/pastors to come and rest. It is located right on the Black Sea
and the view is incredible!
We have been doing a variety of things including
painting, gardening, and teaching English classes. It’s amazing to see how the
Lord meets you right where you are and provides exactly what you need at that
given time. Our last month in Africa was rough- definitely one of the toughest
months that we’ve had on the race and coming to minister here this month has
been one of the most relaxing and peaceful places that we have been this year.
It has been so nice to be in such a refreshing place.
We
are here with another team this month, Team Se7en. Please keep them in your
prayers as one of their teammates (Trevor Currington) was diagnosed with one of
the worst types of malaria at the beginning of this month. He has currently
been flown to London to receive better medical treatment. He will be going back
to the States to recover. You can read about it here.
please continue to pray for my team’s health. I currently have bronchitis and a
rib out of place, but I am recovering quickly!
