We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting…

As I sit here, thinking about what I expect to take place on this trip, I know that I cannot even fathom what I will see, experience, or learn. With that being said, here are just a few things that I am expecting:

I expect to be completely broken, and then completely rebuilt by my Savior.
…to learn what it means to live in true abandon to Jesus.
…to be completely heartbroken for the lost.
…to feel burdened by the faces of hopelessness and despair that I see, but share the Hope that I have with them.
…to miss my family and friends a whole whole lot!
…to learn what it means to live in community with other believers, and genuinely serve them.
…to love my teammates a whole lot, especially since they will be my family for the next year!
…to try foods that I never ever thought I would! ha
…to learn the true definition of “roughing it”..ha
…to be stretched in ways that I cannot even fathom.
…to see what poverty actually looks like first hand.
…to laugh a lot with my teammates!
…to see God’s hand in everything we do.
…to be overwhelmed, but feel the peace of God.
…to see God provide in ways that leave me completely awestruck.
…to realize what I take for granted living in the United States
…to realize what I can live without..even once I return (simplicity!)
…to learn more and more each day what it means to be a daughter of the King!
…to see God’s relentless love for His people.
…too experience this love personally in my life.
…to feel the presence of God.
…TO BE CHANGED FOREVER!!
