Welcome
to the town of Cornesti!

A ghost town.
A town that feels as if you are walking onto a movie set
each night when we walk home.
A town engulfed in
apathy.
A town that has men passed out on the side of the road in
the middle of the afternoon- completely drunk.
I’ve been told it’s normal.
A town encompassed by
oppression.
A town that feels dark
and heavy.
But ultimately a town that is in desperate need of a Savior.
Of a Savior who brings life.
A Savior who brings joy and laughter.
A Savior who restores.
A Savior who brings a shining light.
A Savior who loves
without condition.
A Savior who forgives.
A Savior who accepts.
A Savior who breaks
chains of generational bondage.
A Savior who brings freedom.
My prayer for this town comes from Isaiah 9. I came across
this passage one morning and it immediately fit this ghost town.

“The people walking in
darkness

have seen a great light;

on those living in the
land of the shadow of

death

a light has dawned.

You have enlarged the
nation

and increased their joy;

they rejoice before you

as people rejoice at the
harvest,

as men rejoice

when dividing the
plunder.

For as in the day of
Midian’s defeat,

you have shattered the
yoke that burdens them,

the bar across their
shoulders,

the rod of their
oppressor.”

Pray for this town. Pray for open
hearts
. Pray for light to shine here. Pray for encouragement
for the believers that are here. Pray
for revival in this ghost town.

With
God,
all things are possible.
