Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done.
Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.
Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD.
Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.
Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given, you children of his servant Abraham, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.
—– Psalm 105:1-6 —–
There’s nobody, no thing, no feeling, no desire– NOTHING— greater than Yahweh. And in the hustle and bustle of my life, I’ve needed to just stop and meditate on this. It’s so easy to substitute quiet time with Him for watching a favorite show or movie, getting a drink with a friend, or talking on the phone with someone special. But none of that even comes close to the perfect peace and satisfaction that comes from climbing up onto my Heavenly Father’s lap and spending quality time with him. I’ve needed it so desperately lately. Things are just overwhelming with my new living situation, my new job for the summer, my new life! Everything just feels off kilter. But it’s when I focus on how great God is, how great Jesus is, that’s when the peace comes.
I’m praying that we could all spend more quality time with the Lord, just focusing less on ourselves and more on his everlasting greatness.
