My little croissants.
Invictus is officially retired. These 5 people walked through so much growth with me. They embraced my crazy but also believed in me. Basically the only two things I need. Here’s a memoir:
My teammates taught me joy, honesty, and wisdom. I’d love to say 3 things about each of them. One thing I learned from them, one thing I love about them, and one thing I hope for them.
Brandon:
Lesson learned: Bradente taught me that if I let my passion meet my love for people, I can change lives.
What I love: Brandon is goofy. It may take 3 months of promises of hopeful tomorrows, but you’ll see it. You just have to show him how crazy you are first.
My hope: Brandon, I hope you can feel freedom every morning you wake up. You deserve love and attention and care. I also hope your BM’s are better soon.
Aaron (right):
Lesson learned from Aaron: Patience. Aaron has been so patient with me for the past 5 months. He will explain the simplest truths of God or Chinese poker over and over for me. So loving.
What I love: Aaron values discipleship. He walked with each of our teammates through big questions in faith or in life.
What I hope: I hope that Aaron can be unapologetically himself. When Aaron lets loose, he is FUN! I also hope that our time in the Middle East with men and women will be a blessing for him- he loves them.
Meg (left):
Lesson learned: Meg taught me that my faith is going to look different than everyone else’s. Same with my ministry. The freedom she gave to our team allowed us to explore exactly what God had for each of us.
What I love about Meg: She loves to laugh! She loves the wit, wild, and weird. I have found myself crying from laughing with Meg at awkward moments. These are always highlights of my day.
What I hope: I hope that Meg will be loving to herself. She is a beautiful woman of God. Her dependency on Him is heavenly focused.
Jenny:
Lesson learned: Where do I begin? Jenny taught me how to give my heart to God. It’s so much safer there. She also taught me to be patient with myself in this learning season.
What I love: I love Jen’s laugh. She is kind and patient, but so sassy. I love goofing around with her. My children will be calling her Auntie.
My hope for Jen: I hope that she can deepen her relationship with God even more this year. I hope that she finds clarity in life about the future. But I know that wherever she is, she is safe in God’s hands.
Parker (right):
Lesson learned: So much. Kindness, environmental stuff, politics, passion. The biggest thing I learned from Parker is that there is something extraordinary in every day, even if it takes all day to find it and it just ends up being Kinder Chocolate and goofing around.
What I love: Parker humbly takes care of the people around him. As funny as he is, he is steadfast and loving. Not as tough as you think.
My hope for Parker: Before I knew Parker, I was walking towards God. Not Parker, he sprints. I pray that Parker can continue to run as fast as he can, igniting the people around him to pick up their pace and race for the prize.
Love you, Invictus.
