I’m on month 5 of my race! Here are 5 things I never thought I’d do:

1. Flirting with the Chinese police

We were crossing the Mongolian border to head back into China so we eventually could get to Kyrgyzstan. Border control’s process is a few hours. And that’s if it isn’t busy. You have to unpack your bags if they see something interesting through the scanners. My copy of The Count of Monte Cristo was deemed worthy.

Police Officer: “Open your bag.”

Molly: “Sure.”

*Pulling out my tent, tennies, and books (…including my Bible…)*

*Sweating now*

Police Officer: “What’s this?” *Holding up The Count of Monte Cristo*

Molly: “Oh, it’s a great book! It’s about revenge, forgiveness, friendship, and love.”

Police Officer: *Staring and most likely not understanding* “…Pretty and smart!”

Molly: *Smiling and blushing and …. wait, where’s his boss?*

We got through okay. 🙂

2. Sleeping in a train station

I actually slept really well, I just had bug bites all over my feet and hands the next day.

3. Enjoying weird foods for me- normal foods for everyone else

I now enjoy peanuts, crunchy peanut butter (along with sissy smooth), black coffee, dragon fruit, kiwi, bananas, tofu, sushi, fried eggs, boiled eggs, red cabbage, and more! I didn’t realize how much of a picky eater I was. Shout out to my team, Invictus, helping me along this fun and surprising new journey! Healthy food!

Still learning how to peel boiled eggs.

4. Teaching hip-hop

I taught a hip-hop dance to an underground church group to the song “Cake” by Flo Rida. Maybe one of my favorite moments of the Race.

5. Fighting like an animal

I chased down a wild boar to grab a teammate’s backpack. This was in Hong Kong. We camped with boar and water buffalos and they teamed up against us. It was like Hunger Games out there. One dark night, I had a tidal wave of bravery take over me. We saw the boar running away with a backpack, which had important visa information in it that we needed. I picked up a couple rocks and chased it down a dark forest. I was singing “Hey, Bear!” to it while catapulting rocks. Seemed right. Won the bag and bragging rights.

Really, I’m just trying to get more blog views. Seeing if the risky flirting title helped 🙂

Love you all!

Also, made another vlog!
