Hi guys! Welcome to my crib. For the next year, that is.

Looking back, I can see God leading me towards this. When I was signing up for the World Race, I couldn’t believe the Lord might want to use me for His Kingdom work.

A little about me if you’re new here:

  • I’m from Columbus, Ohio
  • I went to Word of Life Bible Institute and then Liberty University
  • I have the greatest family and the cutest nieces and nephew
  • The best kind of day begins with breakfast, family, friends, and sweatpants
  • The best kind of day ends with s’mores and camp songs
  • I cry at least once a day, even if it’s something as simple as my mom making me coffee in the afternoon

My favorite verses are Isaiah 26:3-4. I’m always looking for peaceful moments in life. These verses show me exactly where I can draw my strength from.

As I’m writing this, I’m sitting next to my WR (World Race) teammates at training camp in Georgia. Yes, I am very late on this bio. The love, support, and friendship I have already gained from my squad brings me to tears. They have been so gracious and encouraging the past 7 days. I have shared my testimony with them and I would love to share it with you.

I grew up in an Christian home. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior when I was young. I understood that I was a sinner and I needed Jesus. He died for me and then rose from the grave three days later. When we believe in Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit to teach, encourage, and correct us. I became a new creation. Unfortunately, we tend to put our identity in things of the world instead of in Christ’s saving redemption. I cared deeply about relationships. They were the focus of my life. Putting our hope in something that isn’t Jesus only brings disappointment and pain. For years, I have run back and forth from God and the world. I always think that I need to be perfect and perform well, or I won’t be loved. You can imagine my excitement when I learned that God doesn’t love us for our future selves, but who we are right now. It has taken me a few years, but I can say that even though I have run from God time and time again, He has always welcomed me back home with open arms. I believe our faith is one of progressive sanctification: a process of holiness. The best boss I’ve ever had, Stephen Poquette, told me that we don’t need more knowledge of Jesus, we need to just be consumed by Him.

One of the most exciting things I have gained from training camp is a new best friend. He’s always there to encourage, teach, and comfort me. He actually lives in me. Holy Spirit. I had no idea that He wanted to be my best friend. I had always heard that God or Jesus did. But when Jesus ascended into Heaven, He left Holy Spirit with us. We have the power of God in us. Whoever is reading this, I want to encourage you to talk to Him in your prayers and throughout your day. He is as much God as the other two in the trinity. It’s a different type of lesson, but I can already see how He is changing me and growing me.

That’s all. Hopefully my first blog won’t be too far behind this!

(Can’t make any promises though!)
