When I was accepted to go on The World Race and started telling people about it, their first question was, "How much does it cost?", and then it was, "How on earth are you going to raise that much money?" and I always answered, "God is going to take care of it."
I know that if this is what God wants me to do He'll provide. HE is my provider and I put my faith and trust in Him. I put fundraising in His hands.
I was accepted in March but didn't start fundraising until June. One day He said, "It's time to start." He put a fire under me and my amazing family, I designed a tshirt, ordered 1,000 bracelets and that was the beginning of my fundraising journey.
We made business cards and brochures, printed out pictures and letters, and passed them out to everyone we knew and even people we didn't. When I log into my AIM account I am amazed at how many people I don't know. People who's faces I've never seen and who have only seen my face in a picture.
We put together yard sales and car washes, managed to organize a dinner, and I spoke to a number of church groups and congregations.
I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me and the people who will continue to support me next year. I want to say thank you to everyone who has helped with fundraisers because there is no way I could have done it without you all.
I cannot express my gratefulness enough. I am completely overwhelmed.
