I'm in the third month of The World Race. Even though my team mates and I have been living together for almost three months, we are still getting to know eachother. We're learning how eachother react to certain things. We're learning eachother's dream, and some of us are figuring them out. We're learning what's important to eachother. We're learning what eachother dislikes.
We decided that we we're going to make a list of the things that make us up.
We had a week to do it. We couldn't discuss what we were putting on our list with one another. We had to come up with everything on our own. It could become whatever we wanted it to, and the following week we would share it with eachother at team time.
They were all so different. I learned things about my team mates I didn't know, and they learned things about me they didn't know.
I've never done this before.
I've never sat down a thought about the things that make up Molly.

At first I did not want to do this. I hate talking about myself. And I honestly thought my list was going to be super short because I'm still learning who I am.
I thought of things to add to my list almost everyday. And when Sunday came around, I looked at my list and was surprised at how many things I put down and I realized how much I enjoyed it.

So my point is, sometimes we get so caught up in our own world and with what's going on around us we forget who we are. We forget what we like and what are dreams are. We forget our deepest desires.
I think we need to be reminded from time to time, so I think this list is something I'm going to keep up with.
I'm going to add to it.
I'm sure I'll remove things.
And it will be wonderful to see how I change, but to always remember who I am.

So this is my list.
This is who I am.
This is Molly:

  • My favorite color is purple
  • Sunshine makes me happy-as long as I’m not sweating.
  • I love to try new things even if I have to push myself to do them.
  • I love bubble baths
  • My family is the most important thing to me.
  • I am a loyal friend.
  • I love baking-and the mess I make while doing it.
  • My nails are always painted.
  • I love tattoos and no doubt will end up with more.
  • Not all my tattoos have a meaning and that’s okay. They don’t have to have a meaning. And honestly, it bothers me a little bit when people automatically ask me what the meanings are…just because they think they should have one. Silly, I know.
  • I’m a little bit of a shop-a-holic. I love clothes and shoes.
  • The only time I get really angry is when you hurt or mess with someone I care about.
  • I love cupcakes.
  • I want to open a bakery in a big city one day. I get really excited thinking about wearing an apron and being covered in flour all day.
  • Half of my heart is in Haiti. I hate that I'm missing the trip with my team in just a couple weeks.
  • I love kids-especially little ones.
  • I can’t sit still. I always have to be moving. In church this drives my mom crazy, but I secretly like that it bothers her.
  • Growing up, I was always influenced by the people around me. I’m trying not to do that anymore because it’s okay to be my own person.
  • I like to make people happy.
  • I love to laugh.
  • I laugh at things that aren’t funny.
  • I want to travel and see the whole entire world.
  • I wish money didn’t exist.
  • I wish I could take my brothers and sister with me everywhere I go.
  • I’m tenderhearted.
  • I’m stubborn.
  • I’m an extremely horrible speller.
  • I would much rather be outside than inside.
  • The thing I hate the most is sitting in a classroom.
  • I wish I had an abundance of cupcakes to pass out to everyone I encounter every day.
  • I don’t like big groups of people.
  • Me and my best friend, Shelby, act like complete idiots every time we’re in public and I love it.
  • I love being a preschool teacher because I can act like a little kid all day. I’m a little kid at heart.
  • Consideration is big to me. If someone isn’t considerate to other people I tend to write them off.
  • I think I like cupcakes so much because they make people happy. Have you ever seen an unhappy person eat a cupcake?
  • The best sound in the world is children’s laughter.
  • I’m girly but don’t like to admit it.
  • I desire to be a mom one day, but a wife first.
  • It honestly freaks me out to think I’m going to be someone’s wife one day.
  • I’m self-conscious about a lot of things, but I’m trying to learn to be okay in my own skin.
  • I hate everything about feet. I will only touch mine. And being near to other people’s feet make me want to gag.
  • I hate when my feet are dirty. I have to wash them. Although The World Race has changed that a little bit.
  • I don’t like the feeling of being tied down or stuck.
  • I can count on one hand how many times I’ve ever raised my voice at someone…and I’ve cried after I did it every time.
  • I cry when I’m happy, sad, angry, excited, and every other emotion.
  • I’m learning that crying is okay. It doesn’t mean I’m weak.
  • The main colors of my wardrobe are black, white and grey.
  • If I could listen to music 24/7 I would.
  • I love to wear dresses.
  • I think my heart hurts for other people more than it hurts for myself sometimes.
  • Floral is my favorite.
  • I always match; I’m a little OCD about it. It drives me crazy when I see someone who doesn’t match. And again, the World Race is changing that a little bit…for now.
  • One of my favorite things to do is lay in bed and watch movies.
  • I love dogs and really want a big one someday.
  • I mainly want a big dog so I can ride on it.
  • I’m a little nosey…actually more than a little. I’m working on that.
  • I like to sing, but I have to push myself to sing in front of other people.
  • I’m afraid of being compared to my mom. Especially when we share an interest.
  • One of my favorite things to do is drive.
  • I want to be at a place in my life where I don’t constantly think I’m doing something wrong. Currently I’m figuring out where that thought is coming from and working on it.
  • Once I care about you I always will, but it usually takes a lot for me to get there.
  • I get stuck in my own head a lot.
  • I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life that I regret, but I shouldn’t regret them because they’ve made me who I am today and I’ve come a long way.
  • I’m still learning how to stand up for myself.
  • “No” is not a word I like to use, but need to use it.
  • I think the reason I go back and forth about liking my haircut is that I look like my mom. But I do really like it.
  • I like diet coke better than I like water. Unhealthy, I know.
  • I really don’t want to go back to school, but I think I have to.
  • I hate the color pink.
  • I don’t want to get old. I wish I could stay 21 for the rest of my life.
  • Sometimes I would much rather be around kids than be around grownups.
  • Grownups stress me out and I don’t want to admit that I am one of them.
  • Ice cream is my go to when I have a bad day. Especially Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food ice cream.
  • I love reading, but the book has to grab my attention in the first chapter or I put it down.
  • Sometimes it takes me months to read one book.
  • I will learn how to play the piano one day.
  • I don’t like rain. When it does rain the only thing I want to do is lay in bed.
  • My bed is another one of my favorite places.
  • I like to ride bikes, although I don’t own one.
  • I’m pretty sure chicken is my favorite food.
  • I love that my sister is one of my best friends.
  • Almost all my friends from high school are engaged, married, or have children and I think they’re all crazy…..sorry if you're reading this.
  • I really hate talking about myself. I would rather talk about you.
  • I will have a daughter named Lucy one day.
  • My nickname at home is Muffin. My mom has called me that since before I was born and somehow it leaked out in high school and everyone started calling me Muffin.
  • I’m a big people-pleaser. This is also something I am working on.
  • When I drive I love to turn the music up really loud and sing at the top of my lungs. I secretly love it when people see me do it.
  • I really miss my clothes and shoes at home. Actually, I just miss looking cute.
  • I wish I could like in Forever 21.
  • I’m scared of horses, but I think they’re beautiful.
  • Giraffes are my favorite animals.
  • I love pictures. The walls in my room are covered with them.
  • I want to be Ana Pascal from Stranger Than Fiction when I grow up 🙂
