PACKING LIST
Clothes & shoes
3-4 T-shirts (These have to be ones that you don’t care to get dirty)
2 Tank tops (for when you can wear them)
2 Spaghetti shirts (For layering and for hot months to sleep in)
2-3 nice shirts
12 Underwear (Trust me you will throw half out by the end of the race)
4 Sports bra’s 3 Regular
4 pairs of socks (Not white)
1 long sleeve shirt
1 Good fleece or jacket for the cold months (If you’re going to Romania you will need it)
2 pairs of shorts (knee-length)
1-2 pairs of running shorts/ basketball shorts are best
1 pair of jeans (good for the cold months and when you just want to look normal)
1-2 skirts (knee length)
1 floor length (some countries you will need it)
Flip-flops (I would bring 2 if you can, I went through 4 during the 11 months, but I wore them every day)
Strappy sandal (Keens, ect…) “I didn’t wear mine that much so decide if you wouldn’t and maybe stick with sneakers and sandals”
1 pair of Sneakers
Extras
2- 3Bandana’s (They are great for wearing on your head or you could wear them on your wrist to use as a sweat rag. Trust me… you will need it)
2-3 Buffs same as above (They are also good for pillow cases if you have a small travel pillow).
Packing Cubes (I had stuff stacks, worst thing ever I could have gotten. Hard to reach clothes, other racers had packing cubes wish I did too)
Repel bug spray (Bring 100%, I used mine up so quick. If you have sweet blood like I do you will need this. Thing is I always got bit on my lower legs)
Ear plugs and eye mask (I never wore the ear plugs but I did wear my eye mask all the time)
Toiletry bag (Get one that you could hang on a door or in the place of the shower, trust me because there are some times that you don’t want to put your things on the floor.)
Razors (I brought one for each month…but I had to use some of the extras on the other months so I ran out. You can re-stock but not with the one you want)
Quick Dry Towel and Sarong, (Greatest thing I ever brought on the race. Bring one quick dry towel and a sarong.)

Sunglasses
Eno Hammock (best purchase for the race, also great place for quite time)
Mess Kit (I didn't need mine at all but most other teams have used theirs… would recommend the metal silverware though)
Nalgene (If you get the BPA free it might break, mine did the last month but it’s still worth it.)
Meds: Tylenol, Cipro, IB profin (for "travelers’ diarrhea"), Altitude Meds (I would totally bring some; I got sick in South America. Also remember to drink lots of water) Talk to your Dr. about Malaria meds (I got eating alive in Mozambique so I was so glad I took it)
Journal. (You may want to bring two, but there are places you can get one at like the night market)
Tea Tree Oil (good for just about everything… breakouts, lice, rids of bacteria… literally does everything)
Manicure Kit (can be used for many different things, including getting worms out of your feet)
Scissors
Sewing kit bring an extra one (If you want to collect patches like me, you would want to sew them when you get them)
Ziplocs Bags (can be used for so many things, pack extra one’s you will need them and wish you brought more).
Super glue is your best friend on the mission field!

Electronics
A good computer, (Now I didn’t get my computer stolen but a few people did, so just keep in mind of your stuff)
IPod (Stock up on the podcasts, music, etc while you still have good internet. Make sure you hold onto it wherever you are, especially in public transportation. Don't be a target!)
Extra set of headphones (bring a few)
External hard drive/ large flash drive bring a hard case (back your stuff up! You never know what could happen. Also stock up on great movies.)
