Saying goodbye is always hard. No one ever likes to say goodbye, to the people who opened their homes and theirs hearts to us. Laredo has been a great experience, which I will never forget. My host family where so wonderful, they not only opened up their arms, but their hearts to me the second I had arrived. Not once did I feel odd or sad that I was put in a house by myself. It not only allowed me to become closer to God, but wanting to be closer with my team. Even when it was difficult to talk to the mother for the mother knows as much English, as I do Spanish which isn't much. That never stopped us getting closer, and yes there was a lot of hand moving.

The people of the church that we had been ministering this month have been so warm welcoming and open hearted. The three ladies of the church cooked us breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Even when we had a day off they packed us lunch. I will always remember those ladies. A bunch of the youth we got to know really well, because we were always together. At first we called them our babysitters, and our body guards. They wouldn’t let us out of their site, for it wasn’t too safe to be white and walk around the city. At first it was annoying, to always have someone walk with you everywhere, and it seemed at first to be a job for them. After only a week, I stopped thinking of it as a job for them, and realize that they wanted to be with us, to play soccer, volleyball, and basketball. That they just wanted to spend time with us. I was honored to have them around us.

One of the older youth Miriam who is a English teacher in the city the next town over, has really touched my heart. She is always involved with the church, and always wanting to do more. She has a heart of gold, and always giving more. Even when she already sings at church, is part of running the youth groups, and run other things throughout the church, she told me she wants to start teaching English to the church members who want to learn. She always gives so much, without ever asking for anything in return. I told her she is a very special person in Gods eye. For she loves him, just like he loves her for not only being the person she is but thinking of others before herself. I tell her she will always be my sister not only in Christ but, a true sister in my heart. I know I will be visiting her once I get back from my mission trip.
This month we had done so much, but in a good way. We did door- to- door evangalisum in the afternoons, prayer service on thursday, youth group on Saturday two times, visited the poor part of Laredo in Santa Maria church in Sunday two times, visisted the children of a place outside of town, worshipping in the sqaure of Laredo, and just spending time with the youth of the church. I really think that we left our footprint in Laredo, and touched lives. for that is what one of the things God wants us to do, and that is touching lives!
