New country, new house, new people…New everything!
I have finally arrived in Laredo, Peru on Wednesday August 17th, after two 12 hour bus rides, and a stop in a big town which name I have no clue too, and many check points in Peru. Team Qodesh has teamed up with team Lamp Lighters this month, so instead of there being 6 of us, there are 13 of us. We have all been split up into different host house’s, but are all still close to each other. I am staying by myself with a lovely family. At first I thought it would be hard to stay by myself, only because I have never been alone. I offered because I knew this would be a great opportunity to be closer with God, and to be able to handle things on my own. I have always had someone always with me, and I think it’s time I grow up and see how it is to be on my own. Well I’m not really on my own; I do have the host family. You know what I mean, no Gringo’s aka…white people! The eldest son speaks English so I’m totally not lost, when it comes to speaking with his parents. His younger sister Sharon who happens to be the same age as my sister is a wonderful person. She is trying to teach me Spanish, and I’m helping with her English.

One of the two buses that we had to take to go to Peru!

This is were we stopped to wait for the other teams, and then we got on the last bus.
I know this will be a learning month, for both teams. I hope this will bring me closer to my team and the other team as well. We all have a lot that we could learn from each other, and working with the ministry together will be a great experience. This month will be a little chiller then Team Qodesh was use to last month. Don’t get me wrong I had a wonderful time building a church and spending time with the wonderful people of Ecuador. It’s just this month we get to spend more time with children and the youth of the church. On Saturday we are going to Santa Maria, which is a little town outside of Laredo. They tell us, that most of our ministry will be with kids, I am so happy about it and so is everyone else.

This is Grace. She is so cute!!! I love her already
Another big thing in Laredo and in Peru is playing Soccer and volleyball. Soccer tops volleyball, and in this small town there are two soccer fields that include bleachers. We have been told that women can only watch soccer and cannot play; that we can only play volleyball. Lucky for me I like to watch sports too. I’m just so happy to be in a place that has such great people who have opened their arms to us! nally
