“God I really just want to laugh today, or at least uncontrollably smile”

After a week of intense ministry I was completely drained. My team and I are currently in a remote village of Nepal, we spend our days walking to houses and praying for people. It’s very spiritually intense. I asked God for this simple thing before going to church, and then totally forgot I did.

We haven’t had wifi in a week and my buds and I were starting to have withdrawals. Shelby, Katie, and I set out to Chitwan National Park, which is the closest town to get wifi.

We were waiting for a tuk tuk but none seemed to be coming so we started walking. I didn’t want to walk, so I put my thumb up and waited for a kind soul to stop. And that’s when the fun started.

A huge dump truck thing pulled over.
I laughed. Of course this would stop of all things. We all had good vibes about it so we climbed the ladder and got in. None of us stopped smiling from the second we got in. The two drivers were friendly, and kind. They brought us as close as they could and then dropped us off. They refused payment so we smiled and said our goodbyes.

A tuk tuk passed and said it would take us the rest of the way for a dollar we were so pleased and continued our way to town.

It was rather hot that day so we thought milkshakes sounded good. But then wanted coffee. We walked down the street got coffee to go when all of a sudden we were greeted by a lovely surprise. Elephants and lots of them! A lot of people have them as pets here and we’re out on they’re evening walk. But guess what happened next!?

I laughed.

One stopped and gave my friends and I trunk hugs! Elephants are so cool and who knew they were such good hugers!

I had a smile on my face the rest of the day.

Thanks God. This day is still one of the best days of Nepal. God answered my prayer in a crazy and unexpected way. I love this life.
