Wow time flies. Vietnam has already come and gone, and it is now two weeks until Christmas and I am writing from Kampala, Uganda. First for a recap on Vietnam: We were primarily working with an international church in Da Nang, and got to help them with a retreat they were putting on, we helped prepare for their Christmas program (which I am super bummed we missed), we did children’s ministry Sunday mornings, and really just anything they needed done around the church. God blessed us beyond measure all month, and even provided us with not one, not two, but THREE Thanksgiving meals! We also lived a short 0.6 miles away from the beach, got to watch live football on TV Monday and Tuesday mornings, and we had a couch to sit on, which I didn’t realize how much I valued a place to sit until we sat on the floor the entire time we were in Cambodia.

My favorite part though was that the whole month was consumed with LOVE! What a fun thing. I’ve been saying this year is like my honeymoon with Jesus, and it really started to feel that way this past month. It’s like no matter where I would go or what I would do, he was always there to amaze me. It’s a love like I’ve never experienced, and it has given me a new standard for loving those around me.

We are now staying in a village near Kampala, and are working with a church there. The pastor and his family have opened up their home to us, and we are definitely getting a real taste of village life! We have been preaching, dancing, doing door to door evangelism, and just living life with our African family. Please pray that we continue to be filled up with more of Jesus, and bless this place and these people as much as possible. Jesus is teaching me that he can be my comfort no matter where I am, and no matter how I am feeling or what I am thinking, he still thinks I’m beautiful and still thinks I’m flawless.

I am missing my beautiful family this holiday season, but I’m definitely not missing the freezing cold weather, and I am excited to experience a traditional Ugandan Christmas. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I again thank everyone for all of the prayers and love you give me all the way from the other side of the world. Love from Uganda, Mol.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“You are altogether beautiful, my love, there is no flaw in you.” Song of Solomon 4:7
