Coming with NO expectations…
“You will on a boat in the Philippines for 20+ hours to relocate where you will minister for the next month.” This was the information handed done to us. Questions feel my mind: What does it look like? What does it feel like? Who will be on the boat with us? Where will we sleep? What will we eat? Will we shower? Will there be bathrooms?
I’ve learned to set myself up for the worst as one sure way to be thankful for even the small things. If I expect a warm meal of chicken fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, and grandma’s chocolate cake, I’m sure to become disappointed. But if I expect I might not even get a meal on the boat, and I get one chip and one skittle – I will be the happiest girl alive!
However, one thing we can expect is this… God will do great things – for the Word of God claims that “all things God works for the good of those who love him.” (Romans 8:28)
