We are settling into our ministries in the Cambodia!!

New Life in Christ Church

We are living at a church called New Life in Christ Church, a church planted to reach out to the Cambodians.  There are many opportunities to spread the LOVE of Christ around this community.  Pastor Keat Kove has a huge heart for his country and desires everyone to receive the joy God has given him.  A trend in Cambodia shows that Christians do not have skills needed for higher paying jobs, so Pastor Keat has created opportunities for people to come a learn English and computer skills in hopes to send Christians to a more prestigous work force.  He also believes in order for Christians to rise up, children need to be learning about Christ from a young age, so his wife directs a school for children from three years to nine years old.  In the youngest class, only one set of parents out of about eighteen are Christian.  Discipling youth is also a way this church reaches out the future of Cambodia.  As you can see, there are many ways New Life is reaching out.

CPCDO – Children and Poor Communities Development Organization

This orphanage reaches out to the poor children of Cambodia.  There are 65 children under one roof spanning from 1 month to 18 years old.  Although it is not a Christian orphanage, many Christian organizations support them, which has led to many workers giving their life to the Lord.  The children here are extremely hungry for love, which in return makes the place a joyful place to be at.  For Christ says… “the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to [children].” Matthew 19:14.

Baptist Church and Orphanage

A Baptist church is within walking distant from New Life.  A lady, who attended our English class, and her husband live at the church with three of their own children and 23 orphans from Phnom Penh and villages around.  The pastor grew up in a tribal village, came to the Lord, and began this church.  This has turned into another outreach of our team.

As a team, we are splitting our time between teaching preschool, discipling youth, teaching English, and loving on the children at the orphanage.  During our spare time, we are walking around the community “Asking the Lord” (ATL) where he wants to use us, what he wants to open our eyes to, and how he wants us to pray.  We find ourselves constantly in prayer over this community as we walk/ride place to place.
