All jokes aside, this blog isn’t easy to write. When I do, I feel like I am disrespecting the amazing supporters who have so generously donated in the past. The enemy creeps in and whispers things like “who are you that you get to ask people for money AGAIN. What are you doing that is so important?”
But I rebuke that.
I know I am called to squad lead again, it was a hard decision… but when I sit back and think how obviously Jesus moved, it really wasn’t at all! Although I was having a hard time changing my plans, Jesus had already planned this next season for me and put the pieces in place without me even knowing it! And His plans are always so much better than mine! (Here is the blog chronicling that decision: Blog!)
I am excited to lead again! Huge things happen on the field, both in the racers and in the people they meet, and the fact that I get to experience that now with J-squad is still unreal to me. I am humbled by the things God calls me into.
Here is a little definition of what I will be doing if anyone needs a refresher!:
Squad Leader: Noun- (Also known as SQL) An alumni World Racer that oversees the entire squad and ensures they are headed in the right direction mentally and spiritually for the first 5 months of the Race. They have the tough conversations when they need to be had, plan debriefs, pray over vision for the squad, foster safe environments, encourage vulnerability, and plan team placements. They care for the sick, help connect the squad with the office in the USA, and travel to visit each team weekly.
SO… now to the nitty-gritty. I need to raise a minimum of $3,500 for the first 5 months, ideally $6,500 to lead all 11 months (flying out for debriefs).
