I have grown up in a Military house hold, moving every couple of years. With each move there where new people to meet and new friends to make. My parents and older sister have always been amazing role models in helping others through different organizations (church, school, food pantries, etc.), and wonderful role models in encouraging me to branch out to do things I’ve never done or go places I’ve never been. I have never seen a bigger fan than my sister, Casey. Believe me, that girl is blessed with the gift of encouragement. My parents are awesome, the definition of love and support.
Growing up in such a supportive family has made me more aware of how some others don’t have a steady family behind them. Even on my worst days, my family lifts me up. The best part is that my family loves me with out conditions, even when I don’t deserve it, the show it to me freely.
I am going on the missions field because I want to be that family for others. I desire to lift people up, encourage them, help them, fellowship with them, and point them towards God. I was given the gift of an amazing family, so I want to pay it forward. In Matthew 10:8 we are told to “heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” That is what I hope to do, in the simplest terms, I wish to give.
