One week to go!!! Am I totally freaking out? Surprisingly, no! However, I am a tad frantic, I feel a bit overwhelmed with packing, fundraising, finding family time, etc. BUT, the focus of this mission trip is not on me, the focus is on serving others. And with that in mind I would like to encourage my supporters to take this final week to focus your prayers on my team mates! Including myself, there are seven members of Team Relentless Hope, so with the six full days till I leave for launch it would make the most sense to focus on a teammate a day! I have listed my teammates alphabetically by first name with a little bit of information I learned from them either personally, from Facebook, or from their WR blog. Let’s get started! Prepare to pray hard!
Day one: Wednesday, August 27th
Devote this day to praying for my teammate Ben Moore. He is 24, lives in Georgia, loves giving nicknames, and has a ton of missions experience. My impression of him from training camp was how welcoming he was, he has a glow that draws people to him, and he is truly interested in others.
Day two: Thursday, August 28th
Devote this day to praying for my teammate Brittany Eichorn. She is 25, lives in Ohio, and is insanely devoted to her family! My impression of her from training camp was at first intimidating, she has a loud personally, but is super loving and sisterly, and quickly became a treasured friend. I look forward to this year with her!
Day three: Friday, August 29th
Devote this day to praying for my teammate David Sadowski. He is 27, loves to ski, and seems like a Texas boy through and through. My impression of him from training camp is that he is a natural leader. He takes others into account, is trustworthy, and is able to make the hard choices. Already, I would follow him through hell and high water.
Day four: Saturday, August 30th
Devote this day to praying for my teammate Erica Wood. She is 22, lives in Nebraska, and also has a background riding horses! My impression of her from training camp was shaky at first, we didn’t get immediately close, but now I’m so happy she is on my team! She’s encouraging, picks up on the little things, and reaches out and offers her support through struggles.
Day five: Sunday, August 31st
Devote this day to praying for my teammate Lauren LaCava. She is 22(?), also lives in Ohio, and has been in a billion weddings this summer! My first impression from training camp was that she has a gentle humor to her that really came forward when we were able to talk one-on-one. She brought a light to the group and seems able to get along with everyone.
Day six: Monday, September 1st
Devote this day to praying for my teammate Samara Lazerson. She is 22, lives in Florida, and is going to kick my butt helping the team exercise! My first impression of her was that she seemed perfect; kind, friendly, likable, etc… and that all was true, but she’s not perfect (in a good way!) What I wasn’t expecting was how well the two of us got along, and the deep conversations we had.
Day seven: Tuesday, September 2nd
Today is the day we head to launch! Devote today to travel mercies, that all finical deadlines have been met, and for team unity as we all meet up again and begin our ministry!
Thanks for the prayers! Be sure to follow and continue supporting team Relentless Hope though out this year of being broken for God!
