World Race FAQ

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the World Race and what I’ll be doing next Fall. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on.

What is the World Race? The World Race (WR) is an 11 month mission trip around the world, backpacking to 11 countries

When do you leave? Come August 2016, I’ll be boarding a plane and leaving the States behind. Look out world, here comes Molly!

Where are you going? Each route is subject to change, but here’s the list! Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam.

Who are you going with? I’ll be traveling with a group (squad) of about 55 people. Once we reach each country we will split up into teams of about 6-8 people. The teams will then head to different parts of the country to partner with local ministries.

What will you be doing? Ministry will vary depending on the month, or possibly even by the day. I could be working with orphans, widows, in the red light district, fighting human trafficking, prison ministry, street evangelism, feeding the homeless, building schools, and more.

What about your job? As sad as it is, I’ll have to step down from my position as Teacher. I’m blessed with some fantastic bosses who are all incredibly understanding and supportive of my plans. I’m going to miss my work families!

Why the World Race? Being a missionary is what I feel called to do, and since I’ve left the mission field, the only desire in my heart has been to return to full-time missions. My heart longs to reach out to the people around the world who have never heard of Jesus, who don’t know what love is, and are going throughout their lives completely devoid of hope.

You’re backpacking? That’s right, for 11 months I’ll be living out of a backpack, sleeping on the floor, and calling a tent home. It’s okay if you think I’m crazy, I sometimes wonder about it myself.

Is it Safe? Adventures in Missions (AIM) has been sending people out on the World Race since 2007. Thousands of racers have gone out and returned home safely. AIM and the World Race staff keep tabs on the countries we are headed to, and will change our route if a particular country puts our safety in jeopardy. And if you’re really worried about my safety — Pray for me!

How can you help? Support me! I’ll need lots of prayer support over the next 18 months as I prepare and eventually launch out onto my mission trip. So please, Pray! Pray! Pray! I’ll need all the prayer I can get.

If you’d like to support me financially, click on the “Support” Tab. If you’d like to donate something a little more tangible: like gear, vaccinations, etc. Send me a message and I’ll let you know where I need the most help.
