As far as I can tell, you’ve probably clicked on the “about me” section of this blog for one of two reasons. A) You know me but are trying to figure out what in the world made me want to do a crazy thing like the World Race… or B) You don’t know me and you’re trying to figure out what brand of crazy I am and if it matches yours.

So let me introduce myself: I am Molly Cox and I am a World Racer.

But I’m also a bunch of other things and this, of course, is why you clicked on this page. Here are some facts about myself that will aid you when reading my blog. They will give you context, make you say “hmm, I didn’t know that”, make you laugh and hopefully not cry.

Fact #1: I have been a Christian my entire life. I do not remember not going to church or christianity not being a part of my life. That being said, it took a whole lot trials to get me to take ownership of this fact. I am very excited for this new chapter of my life where I’m attempting to work with Jesus instead against him.

Fact #2: Demographics of Molly–I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa and currently reside there. I speak two languages fluently: English and Sarcasm. Also, I can say a few simple phrases in Estonia. I drive a green truck and her name is Eleanor.

Fact #3: I have the best family ever and probably don’t deserve them. My parents are the best kind of parents. The kind that will support you, encourage you, call you out when you’re being an emotional blob, and be amazing role models. My two older sisters are two of the most intelligent people I have ever met. They listen and give advice on everything from what’s the best pinterest recipe you’ve actually tried to what should I do with my life. My little brother has more musical talent in his left pinky than I do in my entire body and is one of the kindest 16 year old boys you’ll ever meet. Our cat buddy is not intelligent but plays a mean game of ice cube hockey across our kitchen floor.

Fact #4: I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska with a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology/Sociology and a minor in Music. I love learning about new things, new people, and how people live within their culture. Showing respect to people and their beliefs (regardless of if I would live that way) is one of the most important things a person can do. It opens of the world in unbelievable ways and invites an element of understanding between people.

Fact #5: I am a huge fan of (but not limited too) the following: Harry Potter, Castle, Dr. Who, Sherlock, the BBC, Supernatural, Disney Music, Disney Movies, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), Pinterest, Young Adult Literature (especially Sci Fi and Fantasy), Giant Panda Bears, The Civil Wars, Maroon 5, Train, and Shoes.

Fact #6: I don’t play any sports. I only understand one sport which is Baseball. That being said, I play a mean game of spoons.

Fact #7: Being an introvert means I have to have good ways to focus and fill up on energy. I have three major ways that I escape from life and refuel: playing piano, diving into a good story (via book, television, or movie), and taking a long drive with the music turned up really loud.

Fact#8: I love trying new foods. I’ll try most anything once as long as you don’t tell me what it is first.

I hope these facts have helped you to get to know me a little bit better. In the coming months and year, I am expecting to be stretched to my limit, grow, be broken down, and built back up by this experience. The good news is that God will be there hand in hand every step of the way. I hope you will be too.
