THE STORY

So up until a week ago, my plans for the summer consisted of working and saving up money and I mean I was perfectly fine with doing that. It would have also been the first time in at least 4 years that my plans involved staying home…

…until the evening before my birthday.

I got on facebook for probably the millionth time that day but a particular post caught my attention.

Well I was interested. So I actually started to consider how feasible it was to do this. “Does this fit into my current plans? What about saving money and that road trip in august?” These and other questions came to mind.

Then I began praying about it and asked some friends to pray for me. Honestly, I didnt get a Yes or No or any overwhelming Holy Spirit chill through my body. But what did keep coming to mind was that all the things I was concerned about (timing, money, readiness, etc), it all involved my own ability to take care of these things. I just kept remembering all the crazy ways God had perfectly taken care of everything I needed before and during the World Race and even after the race to this current point.

So the question was, if I was moving forward in this, did I trust that He would provide again. But the greater thing was wrestling with was even though I was saying Yes, was God saying Yes as well. Often I find myself struggling to make a decision between multiple valid choices.

A good friend reminded me that, not only is God big enough to open doors but hes also big enough to close them. So regardless of what happens God is still in control. There is no time that is wasted by God.

So long story short, I said Yes, applied, went through an interview and now I’m falling headfirst into something I had no plans to do a week ago. Its weird how quickly things can change.

THE DEETS OF THE TRIP:

In 2 weeks I will be headed to Georgia to do some training and meet the team of 18-22 year olds I will be leading. About a week after that, I will be flying out to…..the Philippines for 2 months!

I leave on May 30th and will be returning July 31st. I currently, do not have a co-leader and will be leading by myself.  *mini panic attack*

I still do not know what I will be doing for those 2 months but when I find out I will let you guys know.

I have a million and one things to do to prepare for this trip, while being on the road for work.

I am not overwhelmed at all. *lies*

WHERE YOU COME IN:

You guys have been in the whole time! Its my joy to get to share this with you.

Many of you were on my World Race journey with me, whether it was through following my blog, donating towards the amount I had to raise, praying for me, or actually traveling by my side. I’m definitely blessed.

So now, I’m asking for you guys to continue journeying with me in this as well.

First, I need SOOO much prayer! There is no part of this trip that I can do on my own. I can barely lead myself to the bathroom without running into a wall and now I’m going to lead other people, in another country, by myself. Yea. *mini heart attack again

Second, I do need to fund-raise a little money to do this trip and I need to have it all by the time I leave *prayer for that is welcomed* For the trip, I need to raise $1700 ($1500 for travel and living and $200 for international health insurance). Comparatively, this is WAY less than the $15,500 I had to raise for the World Race. Regardless, I need God to provide this, if youd like to be a part of how God provides this, by donating, click HERE and follow the instructions. *Note: It will say World Race but as long as my name is there, then it is still applied to me, towards this trip.*

Additionally, I’m also trying to fund-raise my plane tickets to and from Georgia. I’m currently just wanting to buy 2 one-way tickets so that I can at least get to Georgia. Each of those tickets is between $153 – $170. If you would like to donate towards that, click HERE to send money to me through PayPal. My email address is [email protected]. There is a small charge to send it with your bank card but it’s free with your bank account.

Lastly, I will be trying to blog on this trip and would love to share what God is doing in me, the Philippines, and the people I’m leading. I will still be using my World Race blog, so if you subscribed when I was on the race, then you are still subscribed. If not, Click HERE to subscribe for updates.

Well…This is everything for now. I am really excited to see how God reveals more of himself in this time! I am sure it will be good, hard, and challenging stuff.  🙂

Love You guys! Thanks for reading.
