Heres a common conversation I've been experiencing (and finding quite entertaining) lately:
You: 'Oh, you graduated college? So what are you doing now?'
Me: '….In January I am going on an 11 month long mission trip to 11 different countries called The World Race!'
You: (Insert varied responses containing questions suggesting that I am either awesome or crazy.)

So let me try to answer a few of these common questions as best as I can at this point.

WHO? ME! MK Hill. God has allowed ME the opportunity to go into the world and share His love with the least of these. But I do not want to go alone, I want as many people as possible to be there with me. I know that not everyone can physically be there with me, but please join me by following my blog and keeping in touch with me in any way possible.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said "Here am I. Send me."
-Isaiah 6:8

WHERE? The route that I have chosen is January 2013 Route 1! (woop woop!) My wonderful squad and I (God willing) will be leaving in January to go to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Cambodia, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, and India. I can tell you now that I will leave a peice of my heart in each of these countries, and not be ready to leave!

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.' -Mark 16:15

WHAT? Each country will bring its own unique ministry that I will be blessed to be a part of. We will be split up into smaller teams of around 7 or 8 and sent out into places such as orphanages, schools, camps, hospitals, sex trafficing sites, and villages to live and work by teaching, preaching, worshiping, building, cleaning, feeding, and whatever else is available for us to do while we are there. I will not know exactly what I am getting myself into or exactly where I will be until I arrive at each country. (that's exciting!) I am going into this with arms wide open and no expectations other than allowing God to use me as much as possible to glorify Him throughout the world.

'Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as for working for the Lord, not for men.' Colossians 3:23

WHY!?  Video Below. Why would I want to leave my perfectly 'fine' comfortable life in America to go and live out of a backpack and sleep on the floors of 3rd world countries? I must not be normal, because I am looking forward to every aspect of it! From the bugs, to the dirt, to bathing in a lake, to having lice..and Malaria…yes, I am crazy. Perfectly crazy about what God is about to put me through! I am doing this because it has been clearly shown to me that this is God's purpose for my life at this time and it could not be any more perfect for me. The World Race was made for people like me, and I know that I along with many other World Racers are thankful that this organization gives an opportunity for people like us to join in community and do what it is that we were made to do. Maybe we are all crazy….and I like it!

“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you were refusing to help me.’
Matthew 25:45

HOW MUCH? The million dollar question! Not quite a million, but $15,500. Plus all of my gear, shots, insurance, and any other personal expenses. This is a lot of money, but for me to complete this journey and show God's love to people accross the world, unfortunately I have to pay for it. And since I am a recent college grad cut off from the parents payroll…I am going to need help! My first deadline of $3,500 is due by October 1st and this is coming up quickly! A lot of my squadmates are a whole lot closer to this goal than I am because they got an earlier start. Please consider sponsoring me financially if at all possible. All donations will be tax deductible. If you would like to donate monthly, start now by clicking the 'Support my Journey' link on the left. Here you can choose to make a one time donation, begin a monthly donation, or find information on where to send checks. In addition to sponsoring me financially, please continue praying for me and following my blog throughout the whole trip. (Poor college/recent grad friends.. even if you can only donate $5 or $10 it will help and I would appreciate it so much!) Any amount will help and I look forward to seeing what God will do and how He will provide for this in addition to what He already has!

'and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work.'
Exodus 35:21
