Where have I been?

CGA , PARENT MINISTRY, AND EUROPE

It’s hard to believe I’ve been home from the World Race for an entire year! I returned from the Race on December 3, 2012.

In January, I headed back down to Georgia. I mainly went to see all my friends one last time. But the Lord had other plans. During our time together, the Lord laid it on my heart to help Adventures in Missions open an office in Europe to start spreading our ministry across the sea. We already have Europeans that participate in the Race and other trips we offer, but it would be so much easier to set up an office in Europe and send entire squads of Europeans on the Race!

This year has been extremely hard, but extremely rewarding. The first step was going through an intern program called Center for Global Action (CGA).

CGA was a time to really solidify what I learned on the Race and to learn more about Adventures In Missions. There’s a lot of work that goes into all the trips we provide. I got to go to training camp and help train new squads of Racers for the field. Here I served and ministered on the prayer team and spoke with many of the “older” Racer about what they could expect on the Race. My full-time position in the office has been with Parent Ministries. I help the parents of all our Racers with all their concerns and strive to ease their fears. I monitor all the different Parent Facebook groups, write blogs that help them throughout their journey on the Race, and organize and facilitate Parent events. Mainly, I help bridge the gap in communication between Racers and their parents.

Finally, I’ve also been working hard setting up our ministry in Europe. Right now we are planning on sending out a squad of all European Racers in October 2014! My goal is to get a dedicated staff trained here and ready to move to England next fall.

What is Adventures In Missions?

Adventures In Missions is the organization that sent me on my trip, The World Race. Adventures in Missions (Adventures) is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. We emphasize prayer and relationships in our work amongst the poor. Since we were established in 1989, we have taken over 100,000 people into the mission field, some for as short as a week and others for as long as a year or longer. We believe that by giving people the opportunity to hold orphans, bring hope to the hopeless, and pray for the sick, lives are transformed.

What’s God doing at Adventures In Missions?

Since coming to Adventures, the Lord has given our leadership an amazing vision for our future that confirms the calling I felt He laid on my heart in January. Thanks to God, Adventures is growing and expanding at an incredible rate, and with that comes great responsibility. Adventures is truly passionate about making disciples in other nations and empowering them to do missions as well. We also want to ensure the safety and well-being of our missionaries, and to have a more substantial long-term effect in an area. To facilitate this, Adventures is working hard to establish a long-term base in every country in which we minister. These bases will host all our teams as well as their own unique ministry programs and mentoring/discipling nationals. Another part of the vision is to start sending out entire teams/squads of missionaries from other countries. As we travel, God has used us to inspire others to reach out to the world and we feel the call to help them do it! The leadership has agreed that we will start moving into Asia and Europe. The offices in Europe and Asia will monitor all the long-term bases on their respective continents as well as train and support the missionaries they send out from those countries.

The Lord’s timing is perfect to bring me here to be ready when He opened the doors!

During my time here, the Lord has helped me lay the groundwork to get the office going in London. Once the Lord provides us with staff and resources, we will move to London and start working. Until then, we are still moving forward. Right now we have set up a World Race trip for Europeans only. We have started interviewing potential Racers and hope to launch our first squad from London in October 2014!

How can I Help?

In order to continue my work with Adventures and to move to England, I will need your help. I need people to partner with me and to help support me while I continue to work in missions. The work we do in the office is vital to our missionaries on the field and in order to keep their costs low, we raise our own support. For 2014 I am prayerfully trusting the Lord for $20,000. I need monthly supporters and one--time givers. I also understand that not everyone can give, so partnering with me in prayer is also greatly needed! You can mail your tax--deductible gift to Adventures in Mission, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374--2570, or online at www.adventures.org .

If you can’t give but you know someone or some business looking for a ministry to support, please feel free to forward my information on.
