Hi I’m Missy Nethaway and this is the first blog that I’ve ever written! 🙂 A couple days ago was my 23rd birthday, wow.. I feel like time is just flying by, another year God has given me. When I was 22 I was blessed with a lot of things, God has placed a lot of people and opportunities in front of me. 23 is going to be a whole different year for me. Instead of God just dowsing me with grace and blessings, for 23 he is taking me to eleven different countries to be selfless and be Jesus with skin on, to take the grace and blessings He has given me and shower others with this same kind of love. The age 23 is going to be the most sacrificial and humbling time so far in my life. I’m going to be spending a year out of the country not vacationing but serving those who God calls me to serve. I will be leaving friends and family for that year. I will be missing birthdays, engagements, weddings, births and funerals in the States and this will not be comfortable! But God is going to use me at this age in so many different ways that I don’t even know yet. I’m so nervous but I’m soooooooooo excited! I want to hold kids and play with them and show them that there is LOVE in the world. I want to feed the hungry and hear their life stories. I want to help build structures that will be used for worship, teaching and just to simply live in. I want to tell girls on the streets that have to sell themselves that they are not useless and only used for one thing, no, that they were made for so much more. I want them to know that they are beautiful and not just some man’s property, that they belong to the One true King who hurts for them and who loves them and wants to comfort them when they feel broken. I’m ready to share God’s love and mercy with people 🙂 Some have never even been asked the question “Can I pray for you?” You would be surprised to hear about some of the responses. On the world race I’m 23 years old and when I come home I will be 24. God I’m ready, send me to serve and break my heart in the process. Squad X I’m so excited to meet and serve next to you for the September 2013 mission’s trip!
