This is Lena and she was our host for the month.
This
month we worked in the Center for Apologetics Research cataloguing books in the
mornings! The library helps churches be aware of false teaching and tendencies,
equipping churches to stand for their faith.
In the
afternoons, we went to a Zdovbitsa village. This is one of the biggest villages
in Ukraine with about 6,000 people living there. With not many Christian living
in this village- we decided to put up military/ circus tents and to teach ESL
(English as a Second Language) classes! We had two separate classes beginners
and advance. Sammie, Nathan, and Dan taught the beginners class and Chase and I
taught the advance kids. We made so many awesome connections with the kids and
we really tried to throw as much Jesus into the lesson as we could. It was so
good!
Chase,
Sammie, Nathan, and myself all got to go to children’s hospital. We went to the
cancer center wing and got to see about 3 of the 16 kids on the floor, because
the kids were so sick. It was the
hardest thing we did emotionally all month.
We ended up praying over a little three-year-old boy and his father. The
parents pretty much live at the hospital and are pretty much the nurses for
their kids.
We also got spoiled to death everyday with amazing meals- and cakes! We feel in LOVE with them and their amazing kids! We will always remember them and their giving hearts 🙂
