WOW!!!!!!!!! God is AWESOME!!!!!! He has been working on my heart so much this week. He is at work and he is working all around me.
Yesterday me and my AWESOME new team got to go out and find someone to love and maybe share our faith with in the community of Carterville, GA.
Our first stop was starbucks… Drinking coffee and planning what WE wanted to do. We prayed and were getting into my car when…
I noticed all these white scratches on my car. Then also noticed it was dented in as well. A girl from another squad came up and said she got the licence plate number of the person who hit my car. So i struggled with what to do- do i let this go?? But Westly already had the police department on the phone.
So Sammie Jo and Hosanna decided to go back into Starbucks. The rest of us just hung out by my car waiting for the police to show up. The police officer showed up and he did not seem happy that he got our case. We wasn't really nice. So i give him all my info and then we just waited…
So Westly and I started talking about our fanacy football teams and who we have on our teams. We then hear officer Shaw say, I have a fanacy team! So then I asked, who he had on his team and what his record was and you could see in his face and in his voice that his heart was softening toward us! AMEN!!!
Hugh- gets back from chaecking on the girls and informs me that they found some women to talk to inside Starbucks. So- I started to calm down and realize- that God was using us and started to see that God was working. So shortly after the girls comeback outside and officer Shaw asked us if we were all together. And that opened up the floor to tell him about The World Race and what we doing in GA. We then took pictures with him infront of his cruiser! And He couldn't stop smiling! he loved us! 😉
After we got down with our photo shoot. The girl that hit my car and her mom and dad arrived. The girl (i will disclose her name) that hit my car is only 17 years old and thought she hit the curb. And she was so sorry. The mom felt so bad. She must of said sorry about 50 times and I kept saying, it's okay it's just a car. No one got hurt. It's okay!
So what happens is… Hosanna, Sammy Jo, and Emily start talking to the girl. Jo and myself start talking to the mom and Hugh and Westly start talking to the dad. We talked to them for 20-ish minutes. They told us about their lives and it was so cool- because we got to show them Grace. God's forgiveness! We then started to leave and the girl came up to me and she said, I 'm really sorry again! And I looked at her in her eyes and I said, You are forgiven! It's just a car. I'm just glad you are okay!
How powerful! Looking a 17 year old girl in the eyes and telling her she is forgiven. How AWESOME! God is so awesome! Thank God for GRACE!!! Thank God for forgivness!!! Thank God for changing our plan! And thank God for changing my heart to respond like Jesus would!
