In Honduras we worked with David and Scarleth Jones, and every weekday we would go to the little one room school up the mountain to give a bible lesson and a snack over lunch. The kids their were incredible – they were so on fire for God it was awe-inspiring. I’ve never met kids before where the cool thing to do was to read your bible and listen quietly to the lesson.

We also got to become experienced brick makers as
we helped a widow and her son build an adobe house out of clay and pine needles; a lot of laughs and calluses went into those bricks. Mel Jo Barnnet made a pretty cool video about our brick making experience here…..

We also got to make pinatas for the kids at the schools (I wish we would’ve had time to see them break one open.)

Kathryn and I also got to put our landscaping skills to use  to build a garden for our hosts.

Honduras was also a team building month for us; we had to address some tension that had been hanging in the air, and we began practicing intentionality with one another. We finally started to really become friends throughout those conversations.

Above all we got to build some great friendships with our hosts and their staff. Whether it was cooking in the kitchen with Kelly, Hanging out with Aleuth and Jonathan, or jamming out on the guitar with Juan, we all shared heartaches and laughs with one anothed throughout the month.
