Psalm 37:7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
“Be still and know he’s in control” is a saying that I have heard consistently but not till this month do I have a deeper understanding. Over this past month as a whole was a very peaceful month. It has been a time to be still, grow, process, learn and be in community. Often I would find myself in the quiet. Back home it’s a very busy environment, but here we don’t have WiFi available at hand, cars, television or any distractions. Being given the free time to spend with the Lord and in community is something I don’t want to take for granted. It is easy to become so busy that that businesses consumes all your time and the excuse of not spending time praying or reading the Bible is so easy to use, but this past month it was no excuse I find myself excited to start the morning off in the Bible, I’m currently reading through proverbs and the lessons from each chapter alone is always good reminders. I’m thankful the quiet and the growth in me that’s coming out of it. Being still can be uncomfortable at first but consistency is key the Lord with reward you for the time you spend with him. Take time out of your day to just be still and see what the Lord teaches you.
