Thoughts before training camp
Your Destination is 1/2 a mile on the left. My stomach flips I clench my fist 5 minutes away from Adventures in Missions. Anxieties flood my mind

Am I really meant for this?
Will I get along with my team?
What if they don’t like me?
Did I pack to much?
Did I pack to little?

I silently prayed to God to cast away my worries and strengthen me with courage
The car stopped, my mom peered back at me. “Are you ready?”
I swallowed the lump in my throat “Let’s do this thing.”

In the following days I cried, celebrated, was torn down, and built back up.
My worries about out my team were dashed. Never have I gotten so close to a group of girls, and been so open in such a short amount of time. (Adventures in Missions really knows their stuff). They taught us so many valuable lessons not just to use on the field, but to also carry along throughout life.the top 3 things taught that really stuck with me is.

1. There is NO off time in ministry. Describing how Jesus never truly took an off day, if he saw something that needed to be done or someone with a need he’d ,wet that need. Defining ministry as reaching someone in their time of needed minister, Minister than point them to Jesus. As told in John 6:1.
2. Who is the Holy Spirit? A sermon taught by the kind hilarious Mr. Deon from South Africa. He taught that the Holy Spirit helps reveal the truth to us and the truth is Jesus(John 8:32). The Holy Spirit is a HE (John 14:17). Also how the song “Holy Spirit you are welcome here” is kind of false , because the Holy spirit is always with us constantly, we never have to invite him to be with is. The Holy Spirit is like a Pokemon on your shoulder. The Holy Spirits job is to convict and direct and be with you always.
3. The last thing that has honestly changed my relationship with God completely, it started it out its learning how to heard God’s voice. This was a bleak area in my life spiritually I’ve heard of God speaking to people, I have tried in the past sat still closed my eyes and listened to a tangible voice and usually… Nothing. I’ve always felt a bit discouraged by this. Erika explained that God does have a psychical voice as written in Genesis 1:1. Jesus has a voice that we can recognize because he calls us. He doesn’t just speak audibly but also through scripture, words, pictures situations, emotions, spirit to spirit, visions/dreams. We grouped with the whole India team sat in a circle with our eyes closed, our leader tapped a teammate on the shoulder. We then asked God to tell us things he wanted the mystery person to know, I overwhelming had my mind flooded
4. with images for each person picked. I felt seen and known by my Heavenly Father that he was speaking to me in pictures he put in my head. I feel reassured and closer to God, I have been talking to God daily now it has been so so special.
