Sorry I havent’s been able to blog much. Internet has been really limited here in Honduras.
The village that we are staying in has started to feel like home and the people are all so kind. Most of the families that we visit welcome us, a bunch of gringas, into their home and serve us cookies and coke.
A lot has happened since we first got here. So instead of making this a super long blog I’m going to write a little about each family we have met in the villages so far and how God is working in these people and how he has showed himself to us.
The first family we met was Jose. He owns a pulperia in the village we are staying in. We introduced ourselves and asked if we could pray for him. He was so excited that we would even offer to do this for him. After we finished our prayer we asked him to pray for us. While he was praying he stated to sob. Even though I couldn’t understand everything he was saying I could tell how much of a blessing we were to him.

Mercedes and her family blessed us as well. Mercedes has 5 kids one of them being a down syndrome boy named Deybi. They live in a very small house with hardly any furniture. The youngest baby was sick the last time we visited her. We prayed for her and her family and she was very grateful that we came to her and anointed her family with oil. We also found out that Mercedes has cancer. Please pray that healing will come to this family.

We also met an elderly woman who is so joyful that you can tell she loves the Lord. When we went there to visit her again we found out that her roof fell in her house! Thankfully no one was hurt. God definitely protected her that evening.
Another family we met lived in a church but the mother had not accepted Christ into her heart. Her eldest daughter was pregnant by her 23 year old boyfriend. Luckily the boyfriend is still willing to support her and the baby (which is very uncommon in Honduras). After talking with the family some more we found out that the mother likes going to church and loves Jesus. She accepted Christ into her heart before we left. The father was glassy eyed the whole time she prayed the prayer of salvation. We then asked them both to pray over their kids and the mother started to cry while she prayed.
The final family I’d like to tell you about lives in a little shack and you could tell that they didn’t have very much money. While leaving we all felt that we should come back and bring them some food. We later came back with half a chicken, some cookies, and soda. The kids were so happy and I hope they felt the love of God.
There are a lot more stories I’d like to tell you but I feel like I’m hogging the internet. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. I hope to be able to write more during our debrief in Guatemala a week from now!
