Hi there!
My name's Miranda and I'm 24 years old and I will be going on the January 2014 route 2.
I'm from Warner Springs, California. Where is Warner Springs you ask? Well the best way to describe it is… the middle of nowhere. No I'm not exaggerating the closest town is 30 minutes away, and if you want to go to LA or San Diego then you better plan to be driving an hour and a half one way (maybe longer). My family and I have learned that when you're in town you better get everything you need before you go home or else it's going to have to wait. But I have to admit that after living in the city for most of my life it's nice to be out in the country and enjoy God's creation.
Anyways more about me…
I've been going to the same church since I was 5 years old. My church family is definitely like family!
I was baptized when I was 16 years old on a Easter weekend. Ever since I was little I wanted to be baptized but I never followed through with it. At 16 I heard God telling me that I was ready. I finally understood what it meant and why I should be baptized.
I have an Associates degree in Graphic Design and have been working at a photo-lab for almost 3 years. God has really blessed me! The owner of the business goes to my church and it's close to home (only 40 minutes away)!
In my free time I like to paint, make my own jewelry and go on hikes.
I have 3 dogs, a cat, a bird and a younger brother.
My favorite bible verse is Matthew 10:31 "Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." It's been a comfort to me through my parents' divorce and other struggles.
I love music, so expect to see some posts about the songs that are inspiring me at the moment.
I'm a vegetarian (this is going to make the race very interesting.)
I can't wait to see what more God has planned for me and my squad!
