This month my team and I have been living off of $3 a day for meals. That's $3 for all day (all three meals).
Yes it was challenging.
No we didn't starve to death.
Food here in Thailand is pretty cheap. We were able to feed ourselves pretty well.
But it got me thinking….
So many people here have less than $3 a day to live off of. They can barely afford one bowl of rice. The cheapest meal the country can offer.
And it made me think of all the people who end up in sex trafficking.
How just driving down the street you can see the girls standing out front selling themselves because their families couldn't afford to take care of them. You can see the boys that are selling themselves just so they can afford one bowl of rice.
No this isn't the only reason why they end up on sex trafficking but its a part of it.
I can't even imagine the things they've been through just so they can have one meal.
It breaks my heart knowing that many of them had no choice.
What you can get for one meal on $3 a day.
