Sex, money, drugs, and the alcoholic beverage of your choice.
The money to buy whatever you would like…the girls, the cars, the clothes
Strip down to your bare skin to feel wanted even if it’s just for one night.
Roll up and smoke up to ease your worried mind.
Maybe some Jack Daniels or a strong shot of vodka to wash down the pain, doubt, and fear that’s been lingering at your door for weeks, months and even years.

PARTY PARTY PARTY….Lets all get wasted. Yup lets all get faded!
WAIT……………………………………………WHAT………………………………………..REWIND.
Why should I get wasted?
What answers are ever found at the bottom of the bottle?
None!!
It’s just an empty bottle, people!

Whose heartache has ever been eternally put to rest after meaningless sex?
It felt good in the moment but It never really did satisfy that hunger inside.
Where there answers found at the very last hit of the blunt? Or when your high came to a halt and the weed ran out?
Have you found answers in these things?
Because I haven’t
It’s been a dead end each time.
“But dude, just looking for a good time” You say.
I don’t believe you! I dont even believe myself when I go out looking for a "good time"
There is always a meaning behind our search
Were looking for more than just a good time, were searching for meaning in our lives.
There is a reason the clubs are so packed, Eharmony has become the new facebook, and the bars are filled to the brim these days…
Men and woman looking for attention, intimacy and touch.
Something to overcome loneliness, that special someone to fill the void
“Maybe tonight will be the night ill find the girl who will actually care.”
“Maybe tonight will be the night I’ll find the guy who will stay for more than just my body.”
Have you ever noticed when you first start dating someone all your hurt and pain seems to go away and as the freshness of the relationship fades it all comes tumbling back in?
That special person that you thought would fix everything, never really did.
You searched and searched for this person to fill this void only to find he or she wasn’t the answer.
We are searching
Searching for love but in all the wrong places
In between the sheets, in locked lips, date nights, bar crawls, rolled blunts, shot glasses, filled wallets, strip clubs, fancy cars and clothes, pornography. Whatever the case may be…
The specific kind of love that we all search for to fill the void we feel cannot be done so by human efforts.
The answer is not found in the worlds goodie bag
There is a void in all of our hearts because we were born in a broken world due to sin.
There is a void we feel because we are absent from God, from relationship with him. We are absent from his true love.
Many of us are blind to it but we yearn for it and in this yearning we search for it
We try to fill this void with anything and everything other then God and we wonder why nothing does the trick, why we are always still hungry, and why we still thirst.
We were created to be in constant communion with our heavenly father, without that communication our hearts suffocate.
Jesus is the answer to our void. He breathes life into a dying soul.
I mean come on!
Haven’t you ever wondered why you feel so lost sometimes?
Why you’re so angry?
Why you’re heart always seems to cry out for acceptance but can never find it?
Why life seems so meaningless?
Why every relationship you’ve ever had never really fulfilled you the way that you thought it should?…. Because we haven’t given God the chance to whisper life into our void, to truly fill it up.
We’ve just been filling it with other junk that not only leaves us empty but hurting even more so then before.
Tell me I’m wrong. Go ahead; Tell me God has nothing to do with it
But let me call out the names of the poor souls who have leaped from buildings and bridges, overdosed on drugs, or have hung themselves out of utter desperation to escape that void they had felt.
THEY WERE SEARCHING AND COULD NOT FIND, trying to fill the void with all the wrong things
Ill name the countless of alcoholics I know drinking themselves absent from a void that they just can’t seem to escape from, sober
THEY ARE SEARCHING AND CAN NOT FIND, trying to quench what seems to be an unappeasable thirst.
The drug addicts just looking for a fix
THEY SEARCH AND CANNOT FIND fixing on what cannot fix
The men and woman who are addicted to pornography, their minds are chained in lust.
THEY ARE SEARCHING AND CANNOT FIND, gazing upon something that leaves them hungry for more
The broken hearts roaming this world all in search for one thing in common… TO FILL A VOID.
So tell me, Am I wrong to offer Jesus as an answer rather then this world? Because although it may feel good in the moment, The world’s truth lacks true sincerity in its so very plastic and basic answer:“feed your flesh, do whatever makes you feel good. It will fill you”
Let’s use sex as an example. The world crams sex down our throats and tells us its okay to experience it with whom ever we would like
BUT
Can you imagine if we all were obedient to God and remained abstinent before marriage
-People wouldn’t be dying of AIDs right now.
-STD’s wouldn’t be running rampant.
-Babies wouldn’t be born into a single parent home.
-Many girls would be saved from the pain of heart ache finding out they had just slept with a man that was only out to use them instead of protecting them.
For those who follow God's plan, He offers up His blessings. We see these blessings even from a purely secular context. Abstinence prevents unwed pregnancies 100 percent of the time and will prevent sexually transmitted infections if all behaviors are reserved for marriage(sw)
(God wasn’t being mean when he told us to wait until we were married.)
I’ve never met an alcoholic that openly admitted to being fulfilled by his addictions.
Ask a drug addict what he/ she wanted to be when they grew up. There answer sure as hell wouldn’t be a “drug addict.” Being a drug addict wasn’t there to "die" for dream but it is something there dying because of. In fact they’ll spend most of their lives running from their addiction but never escaping it.
It seems as though the world’s philosophy “do what feels good” has only left us in bondage.
The answers this world gives us aren’t answers at all but dark dirty wholes dug out for us instead. And we fall prey to them every day.
This world has clearly fallen short of a sufficient way to fill our voids.
Jesus is my answer!
“Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst; the water that I shall give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13
