All right, so I know this is a strange title for a blog, but it kind of goes off of an inside joke amongst us guys. One of the first nights way back in San Juan, Benny and I slept on the roof of the house we were staying at. We are both northern boys, so we had just come from the snow and cold. As we were laying there in the 70 plus heat staring at the stars, I leaned over and said ” Just think, if we were at home, we would be working right now” ………pause…….. “Oh the sacrifices we must make for the Kingdom”. Then we both spit gut laughing for about 15 minuets. It just seems so backwards that serving God could be so much fun. The past few months have been an absolute blast. There has definitely been difficult times, but it’s still fun. Part of us is scared to step out and do things that are going to stretch us, but when we do and God shows up, it’s freaking amazing. Then if you want to talk about all the cool things I’ve seen and done already on this trip, we could talk all night. So here is what went down today, just to give you an idea of the kind of crap that I have to deal with on a regular basis.

We woke up at around eight and walked up the street to find some breakfast. Then we hopped in the truck and headed for Burma so we could renew our Thai visas. Well it just so happened to be the first day of the water festival, so the whole country is in party mode. People were running and driving all over and throwing water at everybody. We were pretty much soaked the whole day. We made it to Burma even after I drenched a border officer with her own water hose, and visited one of the few churches in Burma. The people just happened to be at the church working on a building project, so we stayed and sang praise and worship with them for over an hour. It was a blast! After that we made our way back to Thailand, and stopped off for the night at a village where our contact knows some people. So we’ll goof around with the kids all evening, spend the night here, and hit it again tomorrow. I’m not exactly sure why I wrote this blog. I guess it’s just because most of the time I feel crazy lucky to be doing this J.

By the way, here are some of the views I have had to put up with here in Thailand.
