Two days ago I was involved in a motorcycle wreck and God decided to spare my life. My natural tendency would be to try and lessen the severity of the situation to try and not draw attention to it, but this story is not for or about me, so I’m going to tell it accurately.
It was a brisk and clear morning perfect for riding and I was excited to be on the road. I was heading a couple hours out of town to visit some friends that were at a training camp. The road was perfect and winding, so I was riding a little fast. I was doing something over 60 mph coming up on a group of three cars. The lead car had braked quickly and was making a left turn, I wasn’t paying close enough attention and by the time I realized it, they were all but stopped and I didn’t have time to brake or avoid a collision.
I started to turn off to the right as best I could braking at the same time. My rear tire locked up and fishtailed to the left. I struck the car in front of me broad side my left leg between my bike and the car. I had maybe slowed to about 50. My bike flipped around the right side of the car and I flew over top on the right side. I struck the ground on my head and my right shoulder. After that I don’t really know what happened, but I ended up lying on my back and a heard someone tell me not to try and move. My mind was a little foggy but that made sense so I just laid there. My head was pounding and my left leg and knee were in extreme pain.
I ended up in the driveway of the women who came to me first. She was on the phone with her daughter when I wrecked and she never hung up the phone, so her daughter was praying for me the whole time. The cops came, and then the Ambulance. First they checked me to make sure I didn’t have any spinal injuries Then they removed my helmet and helped me sit up. I almost passed out I was so dizzy. Then they cut my pants leg off to look at my leg. The medic said that it was probably broken so they were going to splint it and load me on the gurney and into the ambulance. At first I was sure my leg was shattered, but the whole time the pain was becoming less, so when they wanted to load me up I asked if I could hurt it worse by trying to stand on it. He said that I could try if I wanted to. So he helped me up and I put weight on it and there was almost no pain. I believe God straight up healed my leg.
So without a lot more details. I ended up walking away from the accident without even going to the hospital. Not only did God spare my life, he spared me from any real injuries. My whole body is pretty sore and I have a nice concussion, but I’ve never felt more alive. The life I have is not dependent on me having a living body, but God decided to let me have mine for awhile longer, and I’m thanking him for it….. MT
