Well my time in Africa is now drawing to a close. In a few
days we will be heading to Romania. It has been a hard three months in a lot of
ways. But also a completely awesome three months. I feel like I’ve been
stretched in my personal life more than any other time in my life.

This last month we stayed in Gordon’s Bay South Africa,
which is just outside of Cape Town. It was a really quiet month for my team. We
stayed with Tom and Cindy Sipling, who are two of the coolest people I know.
They really poured into our team and shared a lot of truth with us. I think it
was really a time for us to focus on God and each other. We had a beautiful
house to stay in and it really created a good environment for us to do that.
Another treat we had was a full kitchen to cook in. Our first time this year J.
We made lots of fantastic meals, and hung out as a team a lot. It was really a
fun restful time.

I think we learned a lot about just living day to day as a
Christian. With no organized ministry to prop us up, we had to just rely on God
to use us however he wanted to. I think I came to the realization that God
really doesn’t need me to build his kingdom for him. It is becoming more and
more of a mystery to me why he would choose to use us.

We were actually able to spend a fair amount of time with
some people we met from a drug restoration center not far from were we stayed.
God kind of led us to this place one day when we were checking out the town. We
had a really good time getting to know them. It seamed like every couple days
we went down there and spent time with them and built relationships. I feel
like God was able to use us more to minister to them because we didn’t really
have an agenda.

Well with three months left and looking into the last leg of
the trip, I can say that I’m looking forward to going home, but still excited
for what’s to come. I’m really excited for Europe.
