Hello! By now you probably know that my name is Mikyla. To start with telling you about myself, I am nineteen years old and have been blessed to participate in the World Race Gap Year where I will be traveling to India, Nepal, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Ecuador over the course of nine months. I am from Ames, Iowa where I live with my mom, dad, sister and two brothers (and two adorable dogs! :-)) I graduated from high school in 2016 and just finished my first year of college at the University of Northern Iowa where I studied (in my opinion the best major) undecided! I realized after a year of college that I had NO idea what I wanted to do with my life and I didn’t want to waste money on classes I wouldn’t need for my future major. I decided that I should take some time to figure out what I wanted to do and that’s how I came across the World Race Gap Year program. It was perfect timing and I am hoping that over these 9 months I can use my experiences to help me decide what I want to do with the rest of my life. Ok, now here are some random facts about me 🙂
1. I am obsessed with dogs. If you have a cute dog I will probably steal it.
2. I must have coffee to get through the day.
3. I love being outside! Hiking, hammocking, camping, swimming….I’M IN!!
4. I find joy in learning about cultures and hearing peoples stories!
5. I long to travel and see the beautiful world that God created!
I don’t really know how to write an “about me” section so I hope that this works! Thanks for being interested enough to read this! 🙂
