Well where do I begin?
I grew up In Cincinnati, Ohio. I have 5 sisters and 3 brothers. I am the oldest. All of my siblings are half related. That never mattered to me. They are my brother or sister, not half.
I had to over come a lot of hard obstacles in life. Everything from being hungry to homeless and abandoned. Struggled with being the "party girl" or even sometimes the "depressed girl." I had a messy childhood.
In high school the summer of 2009 I accepted Christ into my life. At that point I thought things would change drastically. Things didn't really change on the outside as I had thought. The change was in my heart. Well at least the start of a change. Things were still going on in my heart. I was still angry at people for the way my life started out.
I struggled hard core with depression the summer before my senior year of High School. This was after I accepted Christ. I knew that I was supposed to be different. I just didn't know how to do that. I didn't have many examples in my life to demonstrate that. My senior year things started to change for the better. I had stability with an Amazing family, and I had my Young Life leaders who loved me and demonstrated Christ's love to me. The following summer I went away for a month to a Young life camp, where I learned how to let people in my life. How to not be so guarded, how to open up, and love. That month was the start of my eternal walk with the Lord.
The Lord has put so many amazing people in my life. Just to name a few :Kevin and Katie Williams, Emily Edwards, Anne Ferguson, Abby O'Reilly, Jackie Quispe, and Teenie Hamester. These people have impacted my life in such a way. Holding me accountable, showing me love, while allowing me to love in return. They teach me so much, I'm always learning from these people, and I am so incredibly blessed to call them friends.
Somewhere along the past 4 years I've realized my passion for helping people. That is a gift from God. And I am putting it to use in such an amazing way. I am so excited about the race. Im so excited for what The Lord has in store for me. Im on fire for Christ.
