It’s official. A year from today I will be in Eastern Europe.
I have been accepted to the January 2016 Route #2 for The World Race. There’s plenty of time for the emotional prose and cute stories, but right now many will be checking this first post to see what the heck I am up to— so in a world of 9 second videos and 150 character tweets, I’ll keep this concise.
These are the most common questions I have received thus far.
What is “The World Race”?
No, it’s not the “Amazing Race.” The World Race is a Christian mission trip put on by a nondenominational, non-profit organization called, Adventures in Missions. I will be traveling to 11 different countries for one month each.
I made this in response to the inevitable, “Like.. the Amazing Race?”
The ministry looks different in each country. It may involve building homes one month, spending time with orphans the next, teaching the gospel, ministering to sex trafficking victims, or a variety of other approaches to help those in need. Basically, we will try to provide help in whatever way the community needs.
What countries will you be going to?
– Peru
– Ecuador
– Colombia
– Montenegro
– Bulgaria
– Albania
– Nepal
– India
– Malaysia
-Thailand
-Cambodia
Note: due to world events, this is still subject to change once we are on the field.
Why are you doing this?
- I want to live the most incredible story I possibly can.
- To help others experience life with God.
- To grow in my relationship with God and to grow as a man.
I have my own crazy life story but I don’t want to waste finger strength by typing it right now. I love other people’s stories, though; especially when I get to help them live a cool one.
God hides like a 3 year old nephew. It’s hard not to find him, if you know how to look.
I try to see and find God everywhere I can. I want help others find him too.
In the simplest, cheesiest terms possible— let’s say it’s a calling.
