It is going to be an awesome year. As most of you may know, but some may not, my squad’s route changed a couple weeks ago. Because of the unrest in Kenya we are no longer going to Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda. We are now going to South Africa, Swaziland, and Mozambique. That means in just 8 days I will be in South Africa! I cannot wait to get there.

I also learned my first ministry location while in South Africa. My team (Ahava) will be working alongside another team, BBH, at New Chapter Foundation in Muizenburg, Cape Town, South Africa. Here is an excerpt from their website.
Ministry Vision: New Chapter Foundation was founded in March 2011 and serves communities across Cape Town, South Africa. We believe that every person has a dream and it is our passion to help navigate their journey so that they can reach their God-given potential of living productive, purposeful lives, thereby impacting every sphere of society.
Ministry Summary: Our AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAMS provide recreational and educational support programs to two communities currently, namely Lotus River and Phumlai Village
SCHOOLS OUTREACH PROGRAM runs academic support and awareness campaigns through our partnership with safe schools and we look to build and develop the relationship to impact a wider network of public schools.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT INITIATIVE provides homework clubs and tutoring to our young learners and we look to build on this initiative to assist our learners in achieving better educational success.
SKILLS TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS have been established to assist young unemployed youth through skills training programs and help establish them in their chosen careers.

I am so excited to be able to help these children to better themselves and build relationships with them to pour into them about Jesus, their savior. I don’t know what age group, ministry type, or specific community I will be working in, but I am excited to GO! I pray that God works through me to minister to these kids, because I have no idea what I am doing. God has been preparing me for this with all the kid interaction I have been getting this summer. I’ve never been good with kids, but I definitely feel more comfortable now then the beginning of this year.

Thank you for you continued support and prayer. Without every one of you that has given financially and poured into me spiritually with Godly words and prayer, I would not be able to go on this mission. Just one month ago I was far from my financial goal to leave this September, and now I am very close to my 3rd deadline for the end of November. So, I must ask that you prayerfully consider giving to support me.
