The other day while at debrief in Macedonia, our Squad Mentor decided to have worship in the park. After we all found the park, we began to sing and worship, led by a few of our squad gifted in music.

We had talked about our relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit and developing that intimacy prior to this, so I decided to sit down and spend some time with Him while the others sang.

Right before I left, a man challenged me to always ask “where is Jesus?” Since He is always with us, where is He? Behind you, over at that table, etc.

I closed my eyes and pictured Him sitting next to me with His arm over my shoulder like a friend. I don’t know where we were, but it was ok, we were just sitting there together. I looked down and saw that His side was bleeding. Whipping off my scarf, I stuffed it onto His wound, trying to stop the bleeding.

He then looked at me and said “Michael, don’t you want to accept what I’ve done for you?”

I was torn, I wanted to stop His bleeding, but also knew that I wasn’t accepting His love for me. Slowly, I let go of the scarf.

The scene changed, Jesus was gone, and I was covered head to toe in red. I looked down at myself, still struggling to accept that I had let go, when I felt something placed on my shoulders. I saw Jesus placing a white robe on my shoulders and I was now clean, none of the blood was on me.

He then handed me some armor and I tried to put it on, but was struggling trying to figure out how to make it fit and for some reason had some difficulty with my sword.

I looked at Him like “I can’t do this”, to which He replied “I will train you”.

At that moment, one of the worship leaders said “let’s all hold hands” so I stood up and held hands with those to my left and right and then closed my eyes trying to pick up where we left off.

This time I saw my entire squad standing on a ridge. We were all dressed in the same white robe and armor, and we were all struggling with different parts of our armor. Looking past, I saw the farthest reaches of the Earth, Australia and Asia and more.
Jesus was standing to our right and as we all looked out upon the entire World, Jesus repeated: “I will train you”
