Hey everyone, welcome to my blog! This honestly still feels so surreal… I can not believe I get to spread the love of Christ with other amazing Christians! I will be traveling to Thailand, Cambodia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Ethiopia next September!

I am 18 and a senior in high school. Where has time gone?

Starting senior year, I have been faced with the usual questions, “what are your future plans?” “have you applied anywhere yet?” I would usually answer with “not really sure..” or “still undecided.”

I have always had an interest in serving others; I just figured my interests could only be hobbies and I would have to choose a real occupation after high school. My perspective changed last summer.  I had the opportunity to travel to Haiti on a short-term missions trip, where I gained the understanding that helping others was more than just a hobby. It is my passion. After coming home, I went through a whirlwind of emotions, but now have no doubt that my true calling is to serve God.

I’ve learned this past year that no matter how much planning I put into my future, God’s plan will always be triumphant. I no longer worry about what my future looks like because I know the plan God has for me is far better than I can ever imagine.

Psalm 23:6  “why would I fear the future? For I know I am being pursued only by your goodness and unfailing love.”

God led me to the World Race and I can’t wait to see what this chapter of my life brings.

A little bit about me: My family is very close and extremely chaotic! My parents’ names are Mike and Toni, they are the most supportive people I have ever met. I have three sisters and four brothers. Shauna (25), Gabriella (17), Elijah (13), Yasemeen (11), DaVontee (11), Mazin (9), and Sebastien (6).  I play volleyball, hockey, and softball. I LOVE oreos and pasta. I also enjoy painting. My favorite past time activity would definitely be dancing and singing… I’m fantastic at it! (lol my family and friends may disagree)

Lastly, I would just like to thank everyone who has supported me financially, or through prayers– I feel so blessed and cannot wait to share my many experiences with you!! If you would like to know more about fundraising or just want to talk, my email is: [email protected]

Thank you a million 🙂

With lots of love,

MiKayla
