I Need You

Father, I need you,
every moment
of every day
in everything I do;

especially in this season
where all I want
is some basic comfort,
some constant thing
in this never ending cycle of change.

It’s month nine,
and I’m tired;
tired of pressing in,
tired of moving from place to place,
tired of roller coasters of emotions,
just tired.

And that’s why
I need you Father;
I need you to sustain me
with your joy,
with your Spirit,
with your eternal satisfaction;

a satisfaction that fills
even the deepest crevices of my soul.

I need You God,
to help me stay present,
to stay in the moment,
to open my eyes
to serve the people around me

Without You
I’m lost,
I’m longing for home,
I’m led by self.

With You
I’m found,
I’m living in the moment,
I’m led by love.

O Lord, I need You
to help me to finish this race
with patience,
with confidence,
with endurance,

in Jesus’ name
