So the last 10 days of my life were spent at training camp for the World Race! We we got to meet our squad, sleep in weird places, eat some cray food, take bucket showers, hear some amazing talks, and just be in a Christ-centered atmosphere with 200 other twenty-somethings. We saw people get healed, learned how to hear from God, and ultimately just walked in deeper intimacy with Him.
My biggest takeaway from camp was the numerous identity statements that God spoke over me throughout the course of the 10 days. He just revealed himself to me in ways that I’ve never experienced before!! Through things like worship, prayer, Scripture, words, visions, healing, and other people. It was pretty unreal!
When I was praying over what to highlight from training camp, God put the words “I am who I am” on my heart and it felt like he was not only speaking about himself, but speaking identity into my life regarding who He has made me to be.
So yeah, here are the major truths that God placed on my heart throughout training camp, and I hope that they will speak truth into your life as well!
GOD IS
- Always present — [Psalm 139:7-12] [Acts 17:27-28]
- Love — [1 John 4:8]
- Gives overabundant grace— [Ephesians 2:8-9]
- Good— [Romans 8:28]
- A gift giver— [1 Corinthians 12:4-11]
Like an ocean, God’s love surrounds us. It’s not limited, it’s never ending and deeper than we can ever see or understand!
JESUS
- Definition of humility and servant— [Philippians 2:5-8]
- The connection between God and man— [John 14:6]
- Came to do and teach — [Acts 1:1]
- Healed, performed miracles, casted out demons — [read Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John]
- The same yesterday, today, and forever — [Hebrews 13:8]
Jesus is the same always. He once came to serve, save, and heal, and he’s still alive today doing those very things in people’s lives.
HOLY SPIRIT
- Given to ALL Christians at the point of salvation — [Romans 8:14]
- Freely poured out on those who ask — [Luke 11:13] [John 7:37-39]
- The literal Spirit of God — [1 Corinthians 3:17]
- Helps us understand God’s heart — [1 Corinthians 2:12]
- Points us to truth — [1 Corinthians 2:13] [John 16:5-15]
- Helper, Teacher, Guide — [John 14:26]
- Empowers us — [1 Corinthians 4:20]
- Points us to Jesus — [1 Corinthians 12:3]
- Intercedes for us — [Romans 8:26-27]**I went on a crazy prayer walk with my friend Bekah one night, ask me about it sometime!
- Speaks to us today — [John 14:26] [John 16:13-15]
The Holy Spirit isn’t talked about as much as He should be. He is literally God’s spirit living inside of us! If we ask God for more of His spirit, He will continue to pour it out and empower us to do supernatural things that make zero sense to the world.
I AM
- A child of God — [Romans 8:14-17]
- Confident — [1 Corinthians 3:4-5]
- Free — [1 Cor. 3:17] [John 8:36] [Romans 6:7]
- Walking in new life [Romans 6:4]
- Always with God via the Spirit—[Acts 17:27-28]
- Filled with the Holy Spirit — [1Thessalonians 1:4-5] [Romans 8:14] [1 Corinthians 3:16]
- Empowered to walk as Jesus walked (healing, signs and wonders, miracles, preaching)— [Mark 16:15] [Romans 15:18-19]
God created me to be exactly the way I am. I don’t need to be anyone else; rather, I want to be excited about my giftings and quirks and personality because God loves the way he created me!
So…as World Racers, we are coming together to
- Abandon our lives of comfort to follow Jesus — [Matthew 4:18-22]
- Make disciples of all nations — [Matthew 28:19-20]
- Live as Jesus lived — [John 14:12]
- Pray boldly in Jesus’ name — [John 14:13-14]
- Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit — [Acts 1:8] [1 Cor. 2:4]
- Pray for healing, cast out demons, perform miracles in Jesus’ name— [Acts 5:12-16]
It’s going to be a CRAZY year y’all. So excited to do life with 48 amazing men and women of God. There are going to be so many laughs, tears, spontaneous adventures, and most importantly, lives changed for the Kingdom of God!!
