A few weeks ago, I started brainstorming my next tattoo. I wanted something unique that would combine all of my favorite verses about the power and abundance that we’re given in the Spirit. After searching for hours for a word that would combine all of these verses, I finally took it to The Lord (should’ve started with that lol).
All I kept hearing God say the was the word all.
My response: “did I just make that up? God, you’re gonna have to help me out here because there are literally like 5000 occurrences of “all” in the Bible.”
But, after doing a little digging I found this gem —> παση
This form of “all” shows up 45 times in the New Testament and is the connector between a lot of my favorite verses!!
Mark 16:15 – Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.
John 16:13 – When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth
Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 2:43 – And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
Romans 9:17 – For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
1 Corinthians 1:5 – that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge
2 Corinthians 1:4 – God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction
2 Corinthians 12:12 – Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds
Ephesians 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places
Ephesians 1:7-8 – according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished on us, in all wisdom and insight
Ephesians 6:18 – praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance.
Philippians 1:9 – and it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment.
Philippians 1:20 – that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death
Colossians 1:9 – asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding
Colossians 1:11 – May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy
Colossians 1:28 – Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in christ
Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.
1 Thessalonians 3:9 – for all the joy that we feel for your sake before God
For me, this tattoo isn’t so much about the word “all,” it’s about the power of the verses that it’s in. It’s about walking in the complete abundance that Christ has given us—ALL wisdom, ALL knowledge, ALL boldness—and proclaiming the gospel to ALL the earth!! We truly have ALL things with Christ and we are literally NEVER LACKING!! I want to walk in that mindset everyday and empower others to do the same!!
