Today the final countdown begins. In one week, our journey begins. A journey that I have been anticipating since July 3rd on the day that I found out I was chosen to go on this trip of a lifetime. After lots of procrastinating, it is finally time to begin packing and preparing for my trip!
There are so many emotions I have that are difficult to explain but surprisingly I have an overpowering peace about leaving. I know that God has got this! When I get anxious about my trip, I am reminded of the promise that God will provide for those who follow him. As reality starts to set in, the less “romantic” parts of my trip are brought to light- I will be leaving my loved ones behind for three months. However, immediately following that thought, I am overwhelmed with the joy that I have the privilege to be a part of. I will get to be the hands and feet of the Lord and share the amazing life-changing news of the gospel with as many people as I can in other countries where God has led me to go.
I cannot thank my supporters enough for all of your funding. By God’s grace, I reached 100% of my fundraising goal!! But even more importantly, your prayers have been so encouraging and humbling; you have all supported me in this faith journey. THANK YOU!!!
Please continue to pray for my team and I as we prepare for our trip. Please pray that we will be able to trust fully in the Lord and that we will not fall into the devil’s trap as he tries to make us worry about our upcoming trip. Please pray that I can grow deeper in my faith and build strong Christian relationships with others while we share the gospel with unreached people of the nations. Also, it may be tempting to pray that we will remain safe. It may sound silly but instead of praying for safety, please pray that God can use us in big ways as we surrender our lives to him. The Lord will protect us and he is with us everywhere we go.
Lastly and MOST importantly, God is preparing my heart in ways I never would have expected. I have been blessed with his peace and daily I am reassured that this is his plan for my life. I praise God that he is so good and that he has been preparing me for this day by drawing me closer to him. The (world) race has already begun and I am running full speed towards him! Thank you for all of your support…
