After a 16 hour bus ride, we arrived safely in South Africa! My team and I are excited to be staying at Impact Africa serving the community in Randburg. Our team is staying in a compound with the organization and their 11 amazing interns! The interns are a beautiful example to our team of what Christian community looks like and we are learning so many things from them as they pour into our team and mentor us!

We’ve only had the opportunity to join them for two ministry days so far; we jumped right in and I had an amazing time! Our ministry consists of a lot of door-to-door this month and we have more of a strict schedule but God is so present here in South Africa! It has been so exciting to be used by him in new ways since I’ve been here. Impact Africa does a variety of work around the surrounding cities- baby rescue, children’s ministry, street evangelism, and more! We are excited to get to experience God’s work in each of these things while we are staying here!

During ministry on Friday, God moved so much through me and the interns I was doing door-to-door outreach with! We are currently doing evangelism outreach in a squatter community where we get to meet new people and learn a new language as we serve them and share about the hope we have through the gospel! I was surprised by how many people here have never heard of being born again. We began Friday by praying that the spirit would show us who to speak to and that led us to a man named Robert and his cousin. We had a long conversation with them explaining what it means to be saved and make Jesus the Lord of their life. We explained that inviting Jesus into your heart is exciting and life changing! Both men had so many questions to ask and the Lord filled us with the wisdom to answer their questions. After our long conversation, both men decided to give their lives to Jesus. Robert was more comfortable praying the prayer to be saved in his heart language and we used google translate to write it out for him. It was so incredible to see God’s faithfulness when we stepped out in faith and met new people. I also met a man named Sipo, he got out of jail two days before we met and he told us that he wants to go to church and change his life to follow Jesus! We got to pray over him and share about local churches with him! Also, I met Hilda, she suffered from a stroke ten years ago and the right side of her body didn’t really work. She shared that she was in a lot of pain and we got to pray for her. We laid our hands on the right side of her body and prayed healing in Jesus’ name over this woman. We prayed three times and each time, her pain level lowered. After our third prayer, she could raise her arm above her head! JESUS IS ALIVE AND MOVING!!!

Jesus is reminding me in so many ways that because he lives inside of me, his power does too! We have nothing to fear because Jesus is fighting our battles with us. We all have gifts that God has given us; when we use our natural gifts from God for his Glory, he will use us to do the supernatural!!

I cannot wait to see what God has in store for this coming month in South Africa; I know it will be amazing and I know God will use us!

Please pray for me as Jesus is stirring my heart for new passions; I am reconsidering my future career and what God’s calling for my life is. On the flip side, please pray that I would still be able to focus in the here and now to be present in Africa and with my team as life keeps moving on at home!

Please pray for my team while we adjust to this new country and being around so many people. Our schedule is busy (in a good way) and we are still adjusting to that too! Please pray for us to be able to pour into one another as these interns are pouring into all of us as individuals! And lastly, please pray that the Holy Spirit would move in all of us in big ways and that we would be able to trust in him to do the impossible this month!

Thank you all so much for your support and love! I can’t wait to share more updates soon!
